★★☆☆☆ I am a young woman who has been going to this and various mosque in the area for the last 24 years. Today is Bakra Eid and at 24 I expect to go to a mosque and listen to a qutbah and learn from it. However today and for the last couple years this mosque and the people running it Mohammed Baksh, Sherrif, to name a few are turning what is suppose to be the HOME OF ALLAH INTO THEIR OWN SANCTURARY. LEAD BY EXAMPLE!! I watched both these men talking to people and during the Qutbah and to my knowledge from what I have learned from the past from Imam Khan ( who fainted a couple years ago) everything should be silent, if a man says salams to you, you are not to respond as the Qutbah is the most important part. These two men were not ever aware that the Du`waa was being given, this is appaling from people that are suppose to be leaders in the community. They should be removed and replaced with people who are respected and know the people, and the people like and are working for ALLAH, as we are his servants and not here for the benefits of ourselves.
Today I went to mosque to Celebrate the Mercy of Allah on Man, the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahiml was to make for the love of his god, his own son. Instead of leaving with feelings of joy I left angry, instead of listening to a Qutbah I was watching woman, and standing in the prayer hall talking, disrespectful of the women who want to learn and then main ALLAH the Truth, and instead people selfishly stood their saying hi to people rows and rows infront or behind them. Christian, Jews, Hindu`s are not as disrespectful as I saw people being at this mosque. The first session the Imam was over an hour late and had no explination and didn`t even greet the crowd with a salaa, nor an appology, he was even worse in explaining both sessions of how to read the Namaz. The Imam is clearly unexperienced and is not a people person. He is also unable of reading his crowd, his Qutbah in both sessions was a waste as it was delivered very poorily without passion or conviction. I couldn`t even tell you one word he said today. I can however tell you about the beautiful Qutbah that Imam Khan gave the day he fainted, the passion in his voice, the bidding of albadan, I learned from him and still it sits in my mind Fresh as the day he said it, however I can`t tell you nothing this Imam spoke about. I question is his position really a benefit for the people or should he be schooled more to be a better person to lead the community.
This mosque has no unity and it is shown in the amount of people who attend it for Jummah namaz. The sad thing is you have strong men who are great speakers, know how to deliver a message, knows how to read and control the crowd, people who are more respected then the body running the mosque. Intiaz Ibrahim for instance is one of the most incredible speakers I have ever heard. I learn more from him then from anyone. He speaks on the level of the youth (which EVERYONE IS NEGATING), he speaks to the old, children in elementary schools know him, highschools. colleges, and universities. This is a clear indication that this one individual is making strides in the Intention of ALLAH. I have sat back and observed this man as he has walked into more then one mosque and he is like a celeberity a piest one at that. He takes the time to smile answer questions, and talk to people he doesn`t know. People are stopping him at every 2 steps to say something. This is a leader and this mosque has not picked up on the important aspects of building a community. They feel leaders are just put in place, when in reality they are loved. We are suppose to be targeting the youth and yet this mosque does not. There is no community center, people are rushed out by sheriff because he has better things to do then be dedicated to the mosque, if you have better things to do, Allah`s work is not for you.. sorry. The worst sin is for a muslim girl to marry a known muslim. This mosque has not even built up a community for young people to meet, grow, and conversate. Young muslim people are not given the opportunity to meet one another, and if we aren't going to try a perserve the up and coming generations then Allah is right there will be people who say they are muslim, but will not even know how to pray. We see it happening already.
The wall that divides the men and women does not leave room for fluidity, the women are getting lost. It is very distracting when trying to listen to the Imam or even trying to pray Eid Namaz and the Imam doesn't know how to explain. Mosques like IIT, Foundation, Jammie Mosque, are all msques that have great Imams. Congregations of young people sitting and listening, its very beautiful to see and this mosque needs to learn by thier examples. The people running it need to become piest, come down off thier high horse and remember that this is all for Allah and if they can't do the best for the Mosque they need to step down for the growth and sustinance of the mosque.
