★★★★★ This is a halal Turkish restaurant located on the Automile on Route 1 in Norwood. Parking is available on site, but it might get a little tight, so leave your silver 1979 Fiat 124 Spider at home. There is enough seating for 50+ people, and large groups can probably be accommodated. The menu has a broad variety, including typical Turkish appetizers, kebabs, gyro, salads, sandwiches, Turkish pizza (lahmacun), and dessert. A catering menu is also available, so you're not stuck with your co-workers' favorite, The Oliver Garden. Service is cafeteria style, so be sure to ask for water and extra plates.
The star of the show was the gyro sandwich ($9) bursting with crispy slices of beef and lamb and a shepherd salad. The chicken shish kebabs (small $10, large $15) were juicy chunks of chicken breast grilled perfectly and served with rice and sides of salad, bulgur, and bread. The bread is freshly made, served hot, and best with a side like the creamy hummus ($7).
Overall, a worthy 5 out of 5 stars for quality, value, and delicious flavors. This author has tried numerous Turkish restaurants including in New York and Turkey, and this one is a gem. Posted on July 1, 2017 |
