HALAL SUMMARY
The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status.
NR Visited this restaurant for a business lunch during my last visit to the Bay Area. Was extremely disappointed to see a Muslim restaurant serving alcohol. Posted on November 20, 2014
★★★★☆ I went here for dinner and it was pretty good. The food was cooked well and tasted nice. I had the beef Koubideh which I enjoyed. All meals come with your choice of soup or salad and are decently priced. The place is neat and clean and the service was magnificent. The only reason I will NOT give them 5 stars is because they serve alcohol. Posted on September 12, 2010
★★★★★ I enjoyed my stay at Persian Afghan Kabob. The staff was friendly and the service was on time. Quantities were just right. The waiter let us know that all their meat is Halal except for the beef. I verified that their meat was halal by calling their provider. I also brought home a list of the Halal selection given to me by the owner:
Lamb Chop kabob, Gousfand kabob (Lamb strips), Chicken Kabob, Chicken in a tomato stew, Fesenjon (chicken in a promogran juice sauce), Quabali Polo (Choped Lamb mixed with brown rice carrots and raisins), Lamb Shank, Zeresk Polo, and Adas Polo. They also provide a great selection of appetizers (I reccommend the kask badmenjon)and a variety of vegeterian specials.
So far I have tried the Quabli Polo and the Gousfand (Lamb Kabob). The Gousfand is very delisious and I definitely plan on returning to try the other selections. It's hard finding a restaurant with a good selection of Halal meat, but this place was excellent. Posted on April 15, 2007
★★★☆☆ I went there last weekend. The menue is NOT HALAL. You have to ask for the HALAL menue which has limited items (4-5 items). The facility also serves alchohol.
The food is good especially the soup. The quantities are not enough. It takes ~25 minutes to prepare the food. So if you have kids, you must be prepared. Posted on April 7, 2007
★★★★★ Started with a delisious kask bademjon eggplant appetizer. I ordered the halal lamb strips and my friend had the halal chicken breasts. We both ordered barbacued tomatos, highly recommended. My lamb was absolutely amazing and the chicken was juicy. Great service, cozy atmosphere. Posted on January 23, 2007
