★★★★☆ This is a mostly take-out Middle Eastern restaurant serving platters and sandwiches. There is some space to sit in the back, but only for small parties of 2-4 or so. Needless to say, this is in the Upper East Side, so street parking is available but you probably want to leave the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 at home. This author apologizes for his scanty review -- it has been some months since he visited. But he does recall an exceptional chicken kabab sandwich ($10). He will return and update this review.... ★★★★☆ Excellent during lunch hour on business days. Don't eat at any other time, it will be pathetic. Posted on March 8, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Not really Turkish, more like generic mediterranean. Decent food at a good price with large portions. If you stay away from the shwarma it's actually not that unhealthy. Don't let the guys behind the counter get wise with you ;) Posted on July 16, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Nice place in Mid-Manhattan. The BBQ Chicken platter is good. A servant said they only sell halal foods. The best part of this place is next to the Masjid Uthman bin Affan. We can take a prayer before/after eating. Posted on December 29, 2012 |

★★★★☆ We visited from Canada and really enjoyed eating at Omar's. We shared a mixed grill plate and the portion size was just right. The bread that it comes with is awesome as well, and they gave us each a piece of baklava to finish off our meal. I found the drinks a bit pricey (they don't serve alcohol Alhamdulillah). The waiter was very good to get our meal in a hurry as we were running late for our flight. The service was great! Posted on October 30, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I went there expecting authentic halal Turkish food, made by Turks. Came to find out that the people there were actually Egyptians. They had loud Arabic music playing, which really didn't go with the 'Turkish' vibe. The platters we ordered did not come with rice and were VERY small in proportion. They just came with salad, hummus, & regular pita (not Turkish bread, which you would expect). What is a Turkish platter without rice? Nothing! To top it all off, one of the younger guys behind the counter made a very perverted joke as well. Really disappointed with this place, will not return! Posted on April 11, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Located a few blocks from the Waldorf. They did not have any burgers when we were there so we tried the chicken platter, which was ok. The workers behind the counter seemed a little rude. The free bread that came with our order was the best part of the meal. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Posted on December 25, 2011 |

★★★★★ Very nice, clean and convenient. The bakery and dessert items looked very tempting too. Yet to try.
Edit: Okay I have visited a few times now and it continues to impress me. Very nice and clean atmosphere, unlike our usual Halal places. Must try their combo platter. I liked the Chicken burger and Cheeseburger as well. This place is on the cheap side for your wallet. $7 can get you a sandwich/burger meal and $9 will get you a platter meal.
My one gripe with this place is that they never have the Turkey burger available. It'd be awesome to finally have a good Halal Turkey burger.
