★★★★★ The owners frequent the masjid across the street and also serve the masjid food, so from a stand point of its 'halalness'. I would assume its pretty safe. Def worth a trip
The lunchtime buffet is $9.
The fresh nan and kebab is pretty good, value for money at $3.75 Posted on January 8, 2017 |

★★★★★ One of the best desi restaurants I ever been to based on quality, cleanliness and the price of the food. Kabab for $2, daal for $3, I dont think anybody can beat it plus the taste is amazing. Highly recommended. Posted on August 18, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ They serve watered down food which barely has any resemblance to actual Pakistani food. I have gotten rotten Biryani from them on atleast one occasion and their naans are quite average. Their samosa chaat however is quite yummy. Posted on February 25, 2011 |

NR Food is great over here Alhamdulillah. Especially try their samosa chat if you haven't - usually the younger crowd enjoys this. Some key items to try if you are new are keema naan, kebabs, and chicken tikka masala. For vegeterians matter-or-palak paneer is a good item. I worked caterings for them for a long time - I always tried to serve well and convey a good image of the restaurant. we always make sure to bring more than enough food - for those who are complaining about quantity you might be mistaking this for when there is a conflict with the host who for instance may order food for 100 but instead invites 150 or more guests. I've experienced this while working some times and even so we still manage as professionally as we can. The owner sincerely tries his best to please his customers. They serve a good quantity at the restaurant itself as well... anyway I hope you guys definitely check it out and I hope you'll be pleased ...

★☆☆☆☆ This is the second consecutive incident (food Poising) that happened to me after eating Shadman's food particularly their Haleem and Chicken Curri. My whole family got sick after eating that food. I called them back to complaint about it and they denied that their was something wrong with the food. They started to give an attitude. I was very close to call the health department to complaint about it but my family stopped me to do.
JUST BE CARE FULL WHENEVER YOU GO AND EAT THERE. MAKE SURE THEY ARE SERVING YOU FRESH FOOD NOT FROM YESTERDAY'S LEFT OVER. Posted on September 13, 2009 |

NR This place is definitely halal. I know the main owner/cook (Mr. Fareed) and where they get their meat from. Before pasting any comments that "I know someone who knows the owner blah blah blah" please do a little bit of due diligence and call the establishment yourself to verify if they are halal or not. ★★★☆☆ The food tastes good. But, for some reason, this restaurant serves food in little quantity. I suggest that they should serve food in fair quantity because we pay them fairly. Everytime I go to this restaurant and have food catered--they are amazingly stingy. Posted on August 5, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ Shadman's food is good but staff is discourteous. Quantity of food served deserves serious consideration. One should not pay full price for skimpy quantity. Food quanity served or catered must be adequate--worth the money. Posted on August 5, 2004 |

★★★★★ Great food! I suggest trying their Chicken Ticka Masala. Many of my non-desi friend also love dining there. I love the facade of the building also. Very pleasing to the eyes. A+ Posted on August 4, 2004 |

★★★★★ I have had numerous positive experiences dining at Shadman. The food was great and service prompt (for Pakistani/Indian cuisine). I don't understand why people claim their portions are too small. The plate is always completely covered. Anyway, I recommened it for dining in. Never catered from them, so I don't have an opinion on that. Posted on July 22, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ This is a good restaurant. The only thing is that the quantity of food supplied wheher you dine in or it is catered, is really really shrunk. If they supply reasonable quantity of food--it will be okay. Posted on March 16, 2004 |

★★★★★ The best Pakistani restaurant in Tri-state in my opinion. Authentic Lahori taste. Try their Haleem and Channa if you are from Lahore. Also, every Friday, dinner menu includes Payas which are not at par with what you have in Pakistan but pretty close. Posted on January 3, 2004 |

★★★★★ Great food, great service. In downtown Jersey City, across from city hall and a masjid. very convenient location, just a block away from the Grove street Path Train station. Prices are reasonable. Fresh baked naans off the tandoor, probably the best nihari Ive had in the USA. Great sweets too. Parking horrendous, ambience needs a little improvement but great place to bring your family. Buffet deals cant be beat! Posted on September 25, 2002 |

★★★★★ This is by far the best halal food in New Jersey. The chicken tikka and fish are both outstanding and the fresh baked nan is wonderful. Shadman also offers an all-you-can-eat buffet during lunch hours which is a great value. They also offer catering for 10 to 1,000 people and delivery service is also available in the area. ★★★☆☆ "Delicious Pakistani Halal food at a reasonable price. chicken tikka, Kababs and bahari kababs and fried fish are good. Do try their freshly baked Nan's. They do serve ""halwa purri"" on weekends. They do have a lot of vegetarian dishes too. They do cater food for bigger parties." Posted on June 30, 1999 |
