★★★★★ Me and another friend went to Baraka Last night. We called before to check what time they close and was told 8 pm. We reached there around 7:45 and the owner told us that since it's closing time, all food is to go only. We appreciated his straight forwardness. The servers are really warm and welcoming. This was our first time at this place and they helped us out with ordering and provided suggestions and recommendations. Also when we got there, they were out of donair, but they prepared it in the last minute on our request which we highly appreciated.
This is a small family run business and it's as authentic as it can get. They offer chicken shawarma, beef donair, lamb kabobs, falalfel, zatr, meat and spinach pies, hummus etc. (pretty much the regular Lebanese fair ). They also have a small deli style showcase up front where ready to go Hummus, olives and sweets are displayed. Seating area is small and nothing too fancy.
I had Chicken shawarma platter and my friend had Donair sandwich. My platter came LOADED with rice, hummus, garlic sauce, tabbouleh, fresh Mediterranean salad, meat and a pita (hot sauce on request). Every thing tastes delicious, Tabbouleh was very well marinated and chicken was well seasoned. My friend's sandwich was equally good.
Serving size are really good and food is fresh and authentic. I will be back for sure and highly recommend this place. Posted on December 17, 2014 |
