NR Well getting there and you see yourself inside a "BAR" that fair enough feeling that you would feel comfortable with their "Halal Claim". Be informed that so many restaurant especially persian and christian middle eastern restaurant always claim that it is Halal and they refer to Fatwa that says " just said Bismillah and it would be Halal " I don't recommend this place to anybody. it is NOT HALAL in my opinion what ever they claim. it doesn't even reserve a star. ★☆☆☆☆ I was visiting from LA and my friends took me there for dinner. We found molds on their silverware and grease on dishes. Food did not taste right. They use mustard-green in their ghormeh-sabzi. ★☆☆☆☆ Besides serving alcohol, its workers give mixed messages about the meat/chicken being halal. While some of them tell you its halal other workers swear that it's haram meat & chicken. One day we're told everything is halal, another day told that only lamb, and another day told that nothing is halal. The service is horrible and simply rude. Lucky if they seat you in time and lucky if they don't give your seat to another party while you're away to bathroom or serving yourself at the buffet! Finally, the food is not that great. ★☆☆☆☆ Salaam, all - sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but this place is NOT Zabihah. I worked with a relative of the owner and he verified it with me. What really upsets me about this place is that they don't make it clear - they say Halal but when you say Zabihah thier faces go blank. Either way I never liked the food here - very dry meat. ★★★★★ Near the intersection of Foster and Clark. This is the same food at Reza's on Ontario (downtown). Note of caution: Semantics seem to be the norm at most Middle Eatern eateries. Pita Inn on Dempster (Skokie), Reza's (both locations), etc all claim their food is "halal," which may indeed be true. However, the actual question to ask is whether it is Zabiha. With regret, they will tell you it is not Zabiha. Unfortunately, this distinction needs to be made otherwise there's lots of stuff people call "halal." Regardless, good food for those who eat freely at places of "people of the book." Reza's is well known and acknowledged. Unfortunately, it is not authentic Persian food. They do not serve Zarishk Palau (...enuf said)! If you are adamant about eating Zabiha, go to Foster and Kedzie, you'll find a nice place there called "Salaam." Its run by some Palestinian brothers.
