★★☆☆☆ Spacious restaurant inside a strip mall next to bunch of Korean businesses. Friendly polite staff. Owner is very accommodating as far as having extra chutneys or sauces is concerned. Both Pakistani desi food Posted on February 7, 2018 |

★★★★☆ So let me start with the food here is fantastic. We ordered via bitesquad, and for the most part, everything was good. The only negative, ( and I'm unsure if it's the restaurants fault or the bite squads verifier) was that they forgot our French fries.
As for the restaurant, itself, like I said the food was amazing, with only a couple
minor issues. The biggest of those minor issues ? Portion size. We paid 22$ for lamb karahi , and got an $11 portion. Most restaurants, in NoVa that charge us this much for the same dish, give you quite a bit more, at least double what we received.
Also, the gyro bowl was, imo standard fare.... nothing too exciting about it ( although, days later and I still want those fries).
Lastly, the lamb pulao... now in the name of fairness, I'll admit, this might also be a bitesquad issue, as the pulao wasn't on Al hamra's website...
but no where is it mentioned, that the pulao was made with lamb shank. Seeing that one chunk of meat in the middle of our rice, wasn't exactly what we were expecting.
Having said that remember how I called this place fantastic? And amazing? It's because everything we ordered tasted ridiculously good.
Despite the lacking portion size, that karahi was addicting, the chicken haleem ( which I'm usually not a fan of as haleem should be made with red meat !) was gone in less than 5 minutes (wish I'd ordered 2!) the pulao, not what we expected, but still beyond great, oh and the naan! We got more than we needed ( by accident, we ordered too many) but man... that was some of the best naan I've had in ages. I actually ate a bit of it, all by its lonesome, it was that good. And now I'm craving more.
So besides some hiccups, the food here has already convinced me, I need to order from them again, asap! Posted on June 20, 2017 |

★★★★★ We ordered catering from Al-Hamra last night for an iftar. The order came with 2 kabobs (chicken and beef chunks), rice, hummus, salad, naan, and 2 delicious sauces. It was a good price. The food was delicious! The meat was marinated and cooked perfectly. Everything was so fresh. If you order online (like at ezcater.com), the naan is listed as pita bread but it's naan. The owner is super friendly and nice. He took the time to show me everything in the order. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I plan on going back soon! Posted on June 3, 2017 |

★★★★★ The meat here is hand-slaughtered zabihah Halal as per my inquiry and knowledge. The food is the most delicious and tastiest in the Greater DC Area. Customer service is simply excellent. Posted on February 28, 2017 |

★★★★★ The Good:
-The food was not oily or greasy, which was great.
-We arrived at a time where we were the only customers, so we were able to chat with the owner a bit.
-We didn't wait long for our food either.
-There was a mix-up in one of our orders and they were quick to own up to it, fix it for us, comped that dish, and provide baklava for us, free of charge. That service alone showed us how much they valued us as their customers, I was completely surprised and floored at how they treated us because of a small mix-up.
The Bad:
-My friend had a shawerma, but he said that it was a little cold in the middle. My dish, chicken kabob and rice, was hot, so it wasn't something that was constant. It wasn't a big deal, so we never brought it up.
Overall: I liked Al-Hamra. They're new, but they've been good to us the last time I was there and the food was delicious. I'd definitely come back again. Posted on September 10, 2016 |

★★★★☆ Tried it for the first time this past weekend and the owner was very nice. We ordered the fried fish and kabab combo. Unfortunately they were out of beef kofta for the kabab combo but the owner replaced that with lamb chops and they were delicious. Will definitely go back to try some other items on the menu.
