NR I went there last Ramadan with wife and two kids, my youngest kid is 2 years old and was sleeping in his stroller, my oldest kid is 4 years old and was playing most of the time and didn't eat much, The manager insisted on charging us for 4 adults even though my kids didn't eat, he said he charges per seat in Ramadan.
I find it not fair to charge me for occupying the air in the restaurant FULL PRICE for two little kids. The manager was rude, yelling and very unpleasant.
I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN. Posted on October 10, 2012 |

★★★★★ UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP.. This place just re-opened last week with new owner's from Turkey running it. We were served by a woman in hijab and met her husband who is the chef. We ordered etliekmek (variant of lahmajun) and it was great and went well with the yogurt drink (ayran). Meat is all halal and owner verified that he buys it from the local respected halal shops. There is no music/alcohol/etc and this is a great place for families. I will def. be going back when I'm in the area. Posted on June 30, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ "Allahu 'alim, but when i went there 2 yrs ago it did not seem to be place for muslims. The waitress were young beatiful ladies in red uniforms dressed unislamically, wa astaghfirullah. I did not eat there... The name of the place is also made me suspicious - A-La-Turka, hmm, at least in russian it means ""a kind of turkish"". I seen in the reviews, they have a music too, no thanks...I do not go there." Posted on January 14, 2003 |

★★★☆☆ "I had recently heard of a new Halal Turkish Restaurant in Paterson, NJ named ""Alaturka."" I took my family there one Saturday evening, expecting the food to be like all the other Turkish restaurants I had been to. In fact, the only reason why I went to Alaturka is that they served only halal food. To my satisfaction, the food was absolutely terrific! I had never tasted such wonderful Turkish/Middle Eastern food in my entire life, and my family compl_tely agreed with me. In addition, the atmosphere was excellent! The restaurant was so beautifully decorated, and the service was very good, too. I highly recommend this restaurant to any devout Muslim who is careful about eating only halal. Believe me, it doesn't get much better than Alaturka Turkish Cuisine!" Posted on July 12, 2000 |
