★★★★☆ Visited this restaurant after about 5 years, the black pepper chicken is still awesome, kids loves the nuggets, fires, lomein and we enjoyed spicy fish as well. Good food at a decent price. I will definitely stop by when I visit Jersey again.
No plastic, cash only place. Posted on April 1, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Dingy looking place, but the service was incredibly quick and accurate and the food was plentiful and great! We ordered for 3 kids and 4 adults. Dishes like Chicken wings, chicken fried rice, orange chicken, szechuan beef and beef lo-mein all for under $50. Everything was great and everyone ate to their fill. Not really why this place is called Chimere when the sign say something else. Located in a really grungy area as well. But very satisfied with this place. Posted on March 12, 2013 |

★★★★☆ GREAT Chinese food. I always get their hot and sour soup. The sitting area is spacious but decor is ordinary (owing to the low prices I assume). The waiting staff seems to rush you a bit but I tend to ignore that because I like their food too much. The sometimes bring all three courses out at the same time! The service is a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great and on other days it leaves much to be desired. BUT they are still the best halal Chinese restaurant in town. On that note, stick with the Chinese food. Their chicken nuggets and fried chicken are overly greasy and unauthentic. Posted on September 16, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ We stopped by here on our road trip for takeout. The food was prepared quickly and the pricing was cheap. We ordered chicken corn soup, orange chicken and chicken beef broccoli , all food lacked flavor. Probably won't come back. Posted on June 11, 2011 |

★★★★☆ A friend of mine recommended this place. When I got there, I noticed many people ordered take outs and only two families (including mine) had our dinner in the restaurant. We got two dishes (sesame chicken and beef with broccoli). I haven't these two dishes before so, not sure it was authentic or not. However, both my husband and I thought the food was pretty good since Chinese food is somewhat hard to come by where we we live. It was also very nice to see that there is a praying space made available for the patrons of the restaurant. In general, the restaurant was clean and the service was pretty quick. The only downside of this restaurant is that they only take cash (if I'm not mistaken) and there are limited parking spaces. Posted on March 21, 2011 |

★★★★★ I went to Amin's today with my wife and I ordered:
1- Chicken corn soup
2- Shrimp with garlic sauce
3- Sesame shrimp
4- Vegetable Lo mein
5- shrimp egg rolls
2, 3 & 4 was REALLY really good
1 was OK
5 was really bland
The whole order cost less than 25$
The only issue is Parking spaces, not enough.
Best Chinese restaurant I've ever tried in Northern NJ so far. Posted on November 12, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Amin halal is in our neighbourhood and serve great food. We usually take out the food to home. A few times we ate over there, but the service is not very good. You usually get your soup while you are staill eating your appetizers and food when eating soup and check when ur not even done eating. Thats why we prefer the take out. Posted on October 26, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Its definitly open, I've been going there frequently. Food is the same as it would be at any local chineese spot, it just happens to be halal. Totally worth the trip from Manhattan if you ask me. Posted on August 3, 2010 |

NR There is a rumor going around part of the community that the meat here is not really halal; ie. Egyptian-style "halal" where you just say bismillah before you eat.
Somebody please confirm whether or not this is true. Posted on June 27, 2010 |

★★★★★ As-salaam-u-alaikum,
We went there a couple of days ago and ordered 1) Sweet and sour soup 2) Fried Chicken 3) Chicken roll 4) Sesame beef + Yellow rice 5) Kum Pao Chicken + Yellow rice. Food was excellent except for nos. 2 & 3 which were average. We prayed our Asr prayer in a designated area. Overall a very good restaurant. Posted on July 3, 2006 |

★★★★☆ The first time I went the food was really good (I ordered chicken lo mein). The second time I went my husband didn't like the chicken (it was not the white meat he ordered and it wasn't cooked well enough). The french fries were TOO oily for my taste. I liked Amin's in Newark better. Posted on December 17, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Pretty good chinese food. Definitely better than the counterpart in Newark. Don't go for ambience, but enough seating to fit a medium-sized party. A little out of the way, but all in all good quality food. Posted on April 23, 2005 |

★★★★☆ It's super cheap with nice portion size but very stingy with sauces. The decor and sitting area are lacking owning from it's takeout nature. I'll go again, hey maybe today. The staff is nice but it's a little difficult to communicate with them. Still worth the trip for their beef and general tso's. Parking can be a hassle. Bottomline get it to take out and enjoy it at home. Posted on December 27, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ At first I was excited about chinese hala food because where i live you can never find a halal place and we had finally found one. But when i tried it didnt taste like chinese. It tasted very desi. I think the best part of having halal chinese is for it to taste chinese. I ould not recomand this to people who like the real taste of chinese. But if your a very desi person then try it. Posted on November 7, 2003 |

★★★★★ "I've been going to Amin's for years now. It was the first Chinese halal restaurant in Jersey City..so it is well known in the community for it's GREAT FOOD. During Ramadan, they offer free Iftar and there is always a place to pray at the side of the room. " Posted on October 27, 2002 |

★☆☆☆☆ "Once Amin's (of Jersey City) had served non-zabihah chicken. This was brought to their attention, and they did agree that ""once"" they had served non-zabiha meat. Their explaination as to why they had done this was that, they had run out of zabiha meat that day. The Amin's in Newark seems fine. The best chinese place in NJ thus far however seems to be China Pagoda in Wayne, NJ." Posted on August 5, 2001 |
