NR I Just don't understand the fact that alcohol is haram period ... So how can you sell alcohol and halal food at same place ???? You have to pick one !!!! So there for anyone halal place serve alcohol just boycott them very simple . Posted on September 19, 2014 |
We clearly label restaurants that serve alcohol to their non-Muslim customers along with dishes made with Halal meat, so that our users can decide for themselves whether or not they want to go |

NR As everybody said, service was sucks and food was acceptable. I would say not worth to pay high price just for kabobs. Not happy! Posted on March 29, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ The food was good, however the service is bad. The waiters seems lazy to work here. They just like to rest. They are not friendly. Posted on December 23, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ The food here is delicious. I have come back again and again, and I love the Qabili pulao. Their prices are not great, and we are disappointed to see that they have decreased their serving size from what was quite hearty to what barely satisfies. My husband had to order two dishes after seeing the new size. The exterior is a bit run-down, which I used to find charming when there were more other merits. Also, they serve alcohol. It's hard to understand how they rationalize a halal food menu with a two page menu of alcoholic drinks. Posted on November 22, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ Probably the worst Afghan food in DC. I'm surprised they are still in business. Lunch buffet is horrific. They don't refill the food when it runs out and the food was stale and NOT tasty at all. I do not recommend. Posted on October 3, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ Food was tasteless, period. I don't think anything I had was even satisfactory, that was the one and only time I'd eat at this restaurant and the service was horrendous to top things off. Posted on July 25, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ This was the worst place I have ever eaten. I travel to DC. I looked at Zabihah.com to eat. I had afgan food before at new york. It was really good. But this place was very bad. the food was no flavor and taste salty. They also serve alcohol. Haram. I will never go again. If you really want to eat halal food in a islamic environment this is not the right place for you. Posted on April 1, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ I've only had the buffet here, and I'd say its mediocre at best. There are better Afghan places in the area. Posted on August 31, 2008 |

★★★★★ Food is excellent!! Loved it so much that I took my whole family there!:) Lamb palow and bulonay are really really really good. The lamb palow comes witha tasty timar salan type thing. Yummy! Love the combo! Have yet to try other items. Wish I lived near it! :) Posted on December 24, 2007 |

★★☆☆☆ Good halal foods, reasonable prices. I was impressed the first few times I went there, but now have other favorite places for Afghani foods. There is a banquet room for "20 to 200" guests, where we held our wedding ceremony/reception in 2003. They changed (increased) the price on us at the last minute; I was soooooo mad. The first few times I went there, I was asked if I wanted to order beer or wine, which I found offensive. I guess since I have blond hair, and no hijab, they assume I want alcohol??? Ugh. Let the people who need booze ask for it. Posted on October 17, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ I would like to point out a few things about this establishment. They serve alcohol. They have bad service - the server never showed any interest in serving us, never refilled our drinks or asked us if we needed anything. It took two tries to get a soda without ice. Poor listening skills as the servers never pay any attention to you. The "meals" consists of dried out skinny bread that does not fit the plate it is on and touches the table on both ends and a few pieces of meat. There is no bread or salad that is offered with the dinner meal. It is also quite expensive. There is only one positive and it is that food tastes good. The portions are also small. The exterior of the building is poorly kept even though it is ok from inside. Posted on August 24, 2005 |

★★☆☆☆ I can't believe they have a whole two sheets on their menu for alcoholic beverages! The food was ok (we had the jumbo kabob. There was no standard salad or rice with our order. The side order of rice was small. The restaurant did have a view of the 4th of July fireworks. The service was not that great either. The server wasn't really available and only came by once or twice the whole entire time we were there. Alhumdulillah, they did allow us space to pray. Posted on July 12, 2005 |

★★☆☆☆ Okay lets be HONEST: the food is NOT very good at the actual restaurant. On the other hand if you have connections, you can have the food made well for your function. Their best dish is their sambosa appetizer. Actual Afghans dont like to eat there because its sooo overpriced. The bread is good of course! BAD BAD BAD: They serve alcohol! ★★★★☆ When they cater their food it's excellent :) But I ordered take out once and it was a 3 out of 4... I have a problem with them serving alcohol and having a Xmas tree, considering they are Muslims and Afghan, therefore I don't plan to eat there anymore Posted on January 21, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I have been to this place a number of times. Food quality is nice but there is room for improvement. For example, Chopan Kabob is very tasty but needs to be a tad more tender. Very good service. Recommended overall. Posted on November 26, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Ok, while I have to admit that the food here is not the best Afghan food in the area, I really like this restaurant. The service, great lunch buffet, and comfortable atmoshere have lured me time and time again. The portions are reasonable and the prices are nice as well. I wish they'd enhance their dessert menu... but other than that... it's a nice place to eat... Posted on October 21, 2003 |

★★★★★ Great lamb and chicken dishes. Staff is friendly. Not particularly fancy inside-but who cares! Can sometimes hear the DJ from the next-door reception hall pumping up the volume, but not a prob. This Afghan food is definitely tasty and healthy- check it out. Posted on October 5, 2003 |
