HALAL SUMMARY
The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. Offers Halal meat upon request. Halal lamb, beef, and chicken.
★★☆☆☆ This place is a bit overrated. First the good. The staff is very friendly and take good care of the customers. Food on the other hand is just average. The people are more overwhelmed with the experience of cooking their own meet rather than the quality and taste. I tried them a few times but can't recommend anyone to go out of their way to try this place out. I also had a terrible upset stomach after my last visit. I will probably not go back.
They also serve pork which gets cooked in the same pots that you use for your halal food. They obviously don't separate those pots for halal and non-halal meet after you are done with using yours so who knows how well they get cleaned. I know I am splitting hair but it was off putting for me as the people right next to me were boiling pork belly in the broth. Posted on August 13, 2019
★★★★☆ I've never had shabu shabu before, but it's a lot like Korean BBQ (in which you grill your own meat), except here they basically have a small pot filled with broth in front of you that they bring to a boil, and you cook your thinly sliced meat in the boiling broth. It's good.
As with Korean BBQ, I'm not sure I would ever really crave this place, but that's because I'm not the biggest fan of eating tons of meat. People I know who are all about that LOVE this place. It's all you can eat for about $22, which is a fair price for what you get. Overall, I'm thankful this place exists. For anyone looking to try a new genre of food, I recommend this place! ★★★★★ first of all this place does halal hot pot! Which is damn near impossible to find unless you have a friend who will make it for you at their home.
I met the owner, who is super friendly and knowledgeable about zabiha food. He told me the story about how he began offering Halal due to Friendship. The idea of offering because of friendship really tugged at my Heartstrings. He's gone through the trouble of doing the research and has learned about Sharia and how to ensure the authenticity of zabihah.
This is a man who is not Muslim but wants to befriend Muslims and is offering Halal.
We should support this place not only because the food is super delicious but we should support it before it goes away.
When he first began offering halal he received some hate reviews from islamophobes but says he generally ignores that type of thing.
Please know that you need to get to this establishment early to make sure you get a spot it opens at at 11:30(lunch) the line out the door begins at 11am Posted on February 22, 2018
★★★★★ Come here sometimes after jummah. I’m happy that it’s located near ICOI and a 6min drive from my house. Haven’t heard of many halal shabu spots in OC, but if you’re willing to try, this place is great. Staff, service and food are excellent. Met the owner twice, he was also welcoming of the Muslim community. Just make sure you let them know you want your meat halal and they’ll be happy to serve I️t to you. It’s a make your own food and all you can eat concept. So be prepared to work for your food and be there with an empty stomach! Posted on November 18, 2017
NR This was a first for me eating shabu shabu. It was very good. I would definitely be back and I highly recommend it. You have to ask for the halal chicken, beef or lamb. Posted on June 28, 2015
