★★★ I have ordered chicken from here 2-3 times and while the food itself is good, I'm having trouble understanding how ALL the chicken they make is halal. Until now, I have only seen zabihah Popeyes locations that have 2 types of chicken: the non-zabihah chicken that the corporate office makes them buy from their supplier, and the zabihah chicken they buy on the side for Muslim customers. Typically, the zabihah chicken is available upon request, but you have to ask for it.
I went to this location and was told that ALL the chicken is halal. Is this location exempt from corporate requirements? Are they really able to use ALL zabihah chicken?
Please note: I am NOT accusing anyone of anything and I'm NOT insinuating anything. I Have spoken to the owner and he is a very nice & polite man who has assured me that all the chicken is halal. I'm just wondering if something has changed at Popeyes that now allows for this. Posted on April 4, 2018
★★ It is def. confirmed halal verbally. I called and then I verified in person. I placed an order for a 20 piece meal. To be honest, with sides and all, it came to be about $33 which I felt was a bit on the expensive side. That said, I was hoping the quality would have been good but sadly I do not think I will be returning back to this establishment for the mere fact the chicken was TOO oily. I understand it is fried chicken, but this was disgustingly oily, almost as if it was brushed with lard afterwards. The result? Nasty after burps and a very sour taste that none of my family members enjoyed. I believe their cooking method may be off, in that their oil may not have been hot enough and they used frozen chicken which will always end up being a bad combo.
