A NOTE ABOUT THE HALAL STATUS OF WAYBACK BURGERS
| |
|
This restaurant is listed as sourcing some/all of its meat from a known supplier of Halal meat. This means that the management or employees of this restaurant may not be aware of their own halal status if asked. However, they may be able to confirm their meat supplier, in which case you can proceed if you feel comfortable eating there. Feel free to click on the name of the supplier and/or certifier listed in the Halal summary to learn more about their Halal procedures. Even if you do decide to eat here, we recommend you politely ask that they clean their grill and ensure no contact with non-Halal meat or alcohol. |

★☆☆☆☆ I have never been spoken to so rudely by anyone at a restaurant establishment, and this coming from a fellow Muslim brother. I called the number on this listing and asked who the supplier was for the halal meat. That's a simple question. I wasn't rude, yelling, or used any insulting words. I like to know the supplier not because I don't trust my fellow Muslims but because I want to know the quality of the meat. As Muslims in America we have to go beyond "halal," meaning it was slaughtered according to shari'ah guidelines to organic, cage-free, free-roaming, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, etc. However, the person who answered the call was very rude. I was shocked. You have a potential customer that is driving through your town and asks you a simple question, which you refuse to answer? He said something along the lines of, "I said it's halal. You can either buy it or not." What gives? Personally, I'm of the view that if one has a preponderance of evidence and no reason to be suspicious then it's halal as long as my Muslim brother or sister says so. I take their word for it. However, this owner refuses to even share their source? Our short phone conversation was enough for me to quickly make a decision to not ever visit this business establishment. Is it so hard to be polite? So hard to just be transparent? Posted on September 28, 2017 |

★★★★★ Good tasting burgers. The Muslim owner stated that everything on the menu was certified halal meat except the philly sandwich. We would definitely return inshaAllah if we are in the area again. Posted on July 16, 2017 |
