★☆☆☆☆ I would like to mention some issues about this restaurant. Make sure you read all of these before you go there. I have been to this restaurant four times. Everytime I told to myself, next time they will improve the service, but.... Anyways, I won't go there any more. I am Muslim and student in this city. Firstly, you need to make sure that the food is halal or not. They have mentioned that the only non-halal food is ShishKabab. But it is confusing, because they use that type of meat in other foods as well. So make sure by asking (if they answer correctly) the food is halal or not. Secondly, the restaurant is dirty. You can easily see that by looking at tables, tablecloth, walls. Try not to go to the bathroom. Wash your hand before you go to the restaurant. Thirdly, the dishes and glasses are sometimes dirty. They do not pay so much attention when they wash them. If you tell to the waitress, 'the glass (cup) is dirty!, could you bring another one for me?'. What she does is that she rubs the glass with her hand and says 'Look!, this is clean', now you will drink from a hand rubbed glass, enjoy. Fourthly, the food is so-so, but it is expensive. keep this in mind. They increased the prices recently. Finally, the most important issue. This restaurant has the rudest waitress ever. I don't think you can find any restaurant with such a rude and impolite waitress. She rudely throws the straw, fork and knife on the table. You are still not done with your food and she comes to pick up your dishes. She passes by a lot and hits herself to your chair (not intentionally though I think, but it is annoying). One time I chose a table and she said, 'No don't sit there, go to that table!' I think when they want to hire waitress, they hire the rudest waitress instead of the most courteous ones. One time she even asked for more tip!! I couldn't believe it. Two of the four times, I invited my friends for dinner and I was embarrassed in front of my friends because of their terrible service. Anyways, if you choose to go to this restaurant, make sure to get yourself prepared to see such unbelievable disgusting scenes. There are three other halal restaurants in this city and I will choose from them from now on. Posted on July 9, 2018 |

NR Worst place and service. Don't go here with Posted on July 29, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ I just wanted to let others know: They state in their menu that 'all meat is halal except for shish kabab'. But I kept asking the waitress to make sure everything was halal, and a lady with a headscarf(I think it was the owner) came and took over, I told her I wanted to order meat gyro (or shawerma- I can't recall) and she told me: No, that has shish kabab in it. You can order the chicken gyro if you want halal.
I was very surprised! I think this is strongly misinforming customers. The way they have stated that 'all meat is halal except for shish kabab' basically means a customer should be able to eat everything else, but apparently they use the shish kabab meat in other items also. Definitely check before ordering.
Also, I did not think the quality of the food was good. Posted on June 16, 2014 |

NR I went to this restaurant because this website suggested it might be halal/zabihah. They claim it is, but not only are they the only zabihah place on campus, but they also are the absolute worst place. They have been slapped with health violations, their food has had problems, the water is not clean, and the service is none existent. However, they do charge you for gratuity, and their prices are ridiculously expensive because they feed off the muslim population who has nowhere else to turn. Its quite sad but I imagine the restraunt will be shut down soon from health violations. Posted on April 5, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ I used to go there quite often since the food and the ambience is very good. Then one day I specifically asked if the meat was zabihah halal, and the answer directly from the owner was "No!". Sometimes their goat is zabihah halal from Chicago, but if they run out, they buy it from local stores. The chicken and ground beef is bought from Sam's club. So I'm sorry to say that if you are looking for Zabihah halal food, you can't go there anymore. Posted on October 4, 2008 |

★★★★★ I love this place, the owners are friendly and the food is pretty good. Try their hummus! The other food (shawarmas, kababs, etc.) are pretty good as well. I think the prices are reasonable and not too high. Good place to just chill out with your friends as well (the owner doesn't mind and will sometimes chat with you as well). ★★★★★ The owners are wonderful! The first time we ate there, they treated us like family, and they have treated us the same every time we return. This was refreshing because our son was being a typical toddler, and they were very understanding and kind to us. The food is always great as well. Posted on June 12, 2007 |

★★★★★ Amazing food, great staff, reasonable prices, great location. Kalaya and Mosabaha are my favorites. Their hummus is near legendary. Pitas always fresh and hot. Baklava is the best I've ever had. The beef in the Shish Kebab sandwich is of far better quality than I've had in an expensive steak at another restaurant.
Very social and sociable atmosphere, reasonable prices, intimate setting, this place is off the charts in my book. I've stopped going anywhere else to eat. Menu has such variety that it would take years for you to get tired of the food choices even if you ate there every day. Posted on April 16, 2004 |
