NR Food is delicious here. I have had a few menu items and they never cease to please. Their cuisine is American/ Mediterranean, and even though the American food is good, I would stick to their Mediterranean specialties. I've had a lot of Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern food in my life and their food is definitely satisfying. I love the idea of breakfast, brunch, lunch, and even early dinner being served here. It's like a cafe with many meals all in one. Moreover, they do have great desserts served here too - including Mediterranean desserts which seem unique and delicious (have yet to try them though).
In terms of Staff and customer service, everyone especially the owners, are really friendly and thoughtful. The staff are attentive and come back to you every now and then to check up on you. If the owner is there when we are, he will always greet us and say goodbye before we walk out the door- the owner I believe is Middle Eastern. When I asked him, he said he is from Lebanon. The only con is that the food can be brought to the table a tad bit faster but it's not like you have to wait a super long time really- no more than 15- 20 min typically. I've noticed that it takes just a bit of time because the food is quite fresh and well cooked. The price for food is not very cheap, but reasonable considering a salad is included with your lunch and dinner meals.
In terms of aesthetics, when I first walked in, I was taken aback by how large the space was even though it looks pretty small from outside. The wood molding and the artwork give it a welcoming and bright mood. Also gives a cozy and warm feel to the place despite it being large and spacious.
In my overall experience, despite the things I have aforementioned, all the things I've ordered such as the chicken shawarma's, sandwiches, kabobs, lemon-spinach fatayer, and salads were very nicely done. Their breads/ and pita's for varying sandwiches are different so they add a different kick to the Mediterranean experience. I find it interesting that the shawarma has small potato pieces in it sometimes- it's a nice flavor though- nothing that I'm turned off by. If you don't want that, just politely ask for them not to include it in and they will. I have yet to try breakfast here and I hope to do so. Keep it up guys- definitely will be stopping by in the future!
Note: My husband asked the Chef who is also Muslim if it's halal, and he told him that the chicken and lamb served here is. Posted on June 4, 2014 |
