★★★★★ This a good place to eat. There is no alcohol served and the owner is Muslim. A halaal logo is on his menu. The lamb/beef/chicken gyros are tasty and sandwiches start from 7 dollars. A very large mixed grill meal is 17 dollars. Friendly and warm owner and if you choose the kabob platter you also get to choose side orders. The shop is in Adams Morgan about a kilometer from the Adams Morgan metro stop. Posted on October 25, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Really good beef shawerma. We asked if koobideh (ground beef kabob) is spicy, he answered no. But it was too spicy that the child couldn't eat. But the owner gave a new shawerma and didnt charge for kabob. It is more like afghani or iranian rather than turkish. However good fast food in Georgetown. Posted on May 25, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ This place is average at best. Definitely not the best place for shawarmas in DC. Chicken shawarma was bland and the hot sauce is not very hot. I might go back and try some of their other items if starving and in the area. Posted on October 20, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ This place has potential--its too bad that the new batch of employees at the restaurant do not care about the customers any more. When the place first opened, the bread was baked fresh and served warm. Now--prob due to poor business--there are fewer people working at the restaurant and they do not seem to care if you are a satisfied customer. My shawarma was served with cold bread and cold beef--not a tasty combo at all. When I asked them to warm up the bread, they just put it in the oven and it came out all soggy.
The toppings are also not what they used to be. The yogurt seemed stale and the pickles were dry. I tried to complain to the employees but they did not care.
For a better shawarma and better service, go to Shawarma King or Souq on H Street. Or just go veg and eat at Amsterdam--all three are much better. Posted on August 23, 2010 |

★★★★★ Delicious food, cheap, great location, funky decor, late hours, halal logo in their menus.
Great spot in the heart of Adams Morgan. You can pick your shawarma toppings from a wide variety that include crispy eggplant bits and those awesome pickled beet things. The bread of the sandwiches is baked fresh and is thick (not thin like a wrap). I only had the beef shawarma so far, and it's delicious! The meat was excellent. Definitely going back to this place on a regular basis. Tried the food with a group of friends and everyone was happy with their shawarmas.
In addition to the shawarma sandwiches, they also serve brick oven manakeesh, traditional arab appetizers, platters, salads, and baklava.
The place has a hip ambiance, but the seating is somewhat limited as the space is not large.
*Zabihah.com needs to add a halal verification option for places like this that have a Halal logo embedded in their menus*
