★☆☆☆☆ This place is NOT halal. Only the chicken is halal but it is cooked on same hot plate as bacon. Avoid. Posted on April 14, 2016 |

★★★☆☆ Decent food and good location. According to the owner, the chicken is halal, and according to me, the fries are yummy. You may want to ask them to wash off the grill because they serve ham as well as non-zabiha beef. Posted on October 26, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ This place is not halal at all.
They use the same grill. They just clean if u want for cooking halal
And just their chicken is halal
So I would not consider this place a halal restaurant
I don't suggest this place at All
They better change everything to halal or use another grill Posted on July 15, 2012 |

NR how do you define halal when there is bacon in the menu? i walked all the way and to only find out there is bacon! i'm now thinking if zabihah is reliable.
meats and preparation need to be halal. how can it be halal if the same pan that is used to fry bacon is used to fry the chicken! Posted on March 8, 2011 |
This place was suggested by one of our readers who vouched for it. We are re-investigating it now. |

★★★☆☆ This place is on the corner of 14th an U streets. The subs are average tasting and average priced. Please note only the chicken subs are halal. There are a few items on the menu with chicken; and one or two vegetarian options. It would be nice if the entire menu was halal. For me, it's not worth coming out here just for their chicken sandwich. Posted on November 28, 2010 |

★★★★★ Really good food! Nice restaurant. Owner is Muslim and on inquiry said only had zabiha chicken which still offered several food options on his menu. The subs were full of meat and delicious. Posted on August 8, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ The previous comment is on target with only the chicken being halal. The owner is Muslim and is usually there. The food is pretty average but the decor is interesting... and it is on U street. Posted on June 21, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ I just visited this place. I asked two employees if the menu was halal. They didn't know what halal was and shook their head meaning “no”. So I asked third employee who looked Muslim to me. He said, may be the chicken is halal. At that time I just walked away. I would not eat at a place that doesn’t know what they are serving especially when some has a strict diet. I wish Zabihah.com had less than 1 star rating, because that's what this place deserves. Posted on November 24, 2009 |

★★★★★ Another halal place in the U St corridor! The owners are Muslims and assured us the entire menu is Halal. The restaurant itself is clean and well decorated as a casual place. I had the "U special" where you get whatever you want in your sub and was with three other people who ordered particular menu items. All of us left full and happy! Posted on November 18, 2009 |
