The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. While acquired by new owners recently, they state: 'My partner and recently bought Maskali and would like to notify you that are menu still remained halal as we are Muslims and like to keep it to accomodate our muslims who value their halal diet.'
★★★★★ The food was good and service is fast since not many customers when we were there on a Saturday for lunch.
Owner, chef and waitress all in one. Decent environment.
The portions are not that large compare to other Somalian restaurants that I have been in Seattle, Toronto etc. But still the food is good and would go there again. Posted on February 28, 2012
★★★★★ Hidden Gem in Ottawa. Food is mix of Somali and Yemeni food. Chef/owner is very nice and her prices are very reasonable. Place is clean which I can't say about the other Somali restaurants I have visited in Ottawa. Posted on December 14, 2011
