★★★★☆ Kashgar, the famed and historic city, immortalized in the poetry of Allama Iqbal. The jewel of the Silk Road and the star of the Turkestan.
Kashgar grill offers you a taste and a small peek inside the beautiful, ancient and enchanting culture of Turkestan. This is not Chinese food by any means. This is Uyghur food from hospitable and brave Uyghur people of East Turkestan. This is as authentic as it gets.
We tried at least 4 different dishes and were amazed at the flavor and originality of each dish. However I caution, if you're a foodie type person, looking for quick ethnic fix and dishes bursting with food then this might not be the place to your liking. However if you're out there to savor flavors from the past and long forgotten places then you might be in for a pleasant surprise.
Try Stir Fired Lamb or Lamb Kabab. However the one we liked most was the Uyghur hand pulled noodle.
Prices are on the expensive side so be prepared. Posted on March 27, 2017 |

★★★★★ I am speechless. The pictures of the plates on the menu looked like Chinese food. It is definitely not. I now know the difference between Chinese food and Uyghur food. The biggest difference is Uyghur food (at least at this restaurant) doesn’t use soy sauce. To me that is a big plus cause you savor the deliciousness of the food not the overwhelming taste of soy sauce. Once you use the soy everything tastes the same. The food was really great. It was mildly spicy which made it just perfect. My 6 years old is really picky and doesn’t like spicy food at all. Even he loved the food and finished his plate without me forcing him. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. I will definitely visit soon again (I have already recommended this place to my close friends) I forgot to mentioned that all the food is halal and the owners are known muslims.
