★★★★☆ Good bread ok service Posted on November 28, 2019 |

★★★☆☆ Certain menu items are good like iskender, chicken in yogurt sauce, and lavash bread, but others miss the the mark completely like the pida (Turkish version of pizza). The service leaves something to be desired and the operating hours are too limited for something so close to a college campus. Portions are okay but they are super stingy with rice. Overall an okay place if you need a Turkish food fix. Posted on August 22, 2015 |

★★★★★ I saw some reviews that the food is not 100% halal for items. THIS IS INCORRECT.
I contacted the owner/called/ and asked in person. The entire menu is halal.
The food here is AWESOME. My family loved it and the iskendar is of the best I have had. Curious if this is the same chain that is located as well at Lake George because the Lavish bread is some of the most delicious.
Going back and often. Posted on May 11, 2015 |

★★★★★ My wife and I took her cousin to Ali Baba last week, and we loved it. The lavash bread with yogurt is an excellent reason to return. Posted on June 29, 2013 |

★★★★☆ I visit Ali Baba regularly and confirm that Durum and Iskendar are halal but not Zabiha. The lamb and chicken they serve are Zabihah. They are halal establishment and everything they serve is halal. "A very angry muslim" should understand the difference between halal & zabihah and not give "fatwa". Perhaps, he goes to halal resturant where he is served zabihah meat of animals that are fed blood & bone meals and pork and dead animals. Becareful, slaughtered meat may not be halal. It could be a downer cow fed with animal by products (blood, bone, pork, animal), chicken fed its own mess and meat from pigs, chicken, cows etc. If the halal meat you eat is not organic..i.e fed vegeterian diet..WATCH OUT. ★★★★★ Excellent. One of Captital District's best "halal" restuarant. However, not all of there products are zabihah, nevertheless they are halal. Posted on December 17, 2004 |

★☆☆☆☆ I confirmed the Durum and Iskander Kabob are not halal through the owner. Why would they use non halal beef in only these two dishes and halal in others??? Everyone with common sense, please be advised: this doe not make sense! Probably nothing is halal there. It angers me because they market this place as a halal establishment and because the secret leaked out of these two dishes, they cant refuse it. Ive been indulging (like many other muslims) in thier filth without knowing its all haram. If they lied about this, God knows what else theyre lying about. Everyone should boycott this restaurant. ★★★★☆ I just found out that it is not a fully zabihah restaurant. I was told by the waitress that the durum is not zabihah. Not only the durum but also the Iskander kabob and a few more. Please be careful. Posted on March 26, 2004 |

★★★★★ Excellent food and service. Fresh warm lavosh bread is served with yogurt sauce with the meal. Pepper steak and curry chicken are two great choices. One of Albany's best halal food restaurants. Posted on January 25, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Food are nice & have quite a variety. My only complain is that the pricing is quite steep. For one full meal and a drink, one should prepare between $10 to $15. Posted on January 18, 2003 |
