★★★☆☆ Because of our experience here, I am not sure what rating to give this restaurant, so I am selecting "Average." PROS: The service here is friendly and attentive. The staff are all Bangladeshi (I didn't ask whether they were Muslim), although the food is not specifically Bengali food. The buffet is extensive and includes a shrimp curry as well as the standard chicken and mutton. There are several distinct vegetable dishes. All of the food is very delicious. CONS: There are Hindu religious symbols (including idols) throughout the dining hall. Possible food additives. On our third visit to the restaurant our toddler started acting strangely - like something out of the Exorcist movie - something she had only done once before when I had given her some medication that contained sodium benzoate (an additive known to produce such behavior in children). My husband and I felt floaty and out of it - as one might on allergy medication. Surveying the buffet we thought that the culprit may have been the rice, which had some grains colored, no doubt by an artificial coloring - but that is just a guess. It really could have been any of the dishes. Anyway, despite having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visits to the restaurant we resolved not to go back again - our experience was just too frightening. That said, what effected us may not bother someone else and as I said, the food is delicious, varied, plentiful and well-priced... Posted on May 4, 2009
