★★★★★ I am so thrilled that a trendy, and fun burger place has opened in the downtown area. No need to worry about this place being partially halal, I chatted with the cooks/owner who confirmed the turkey, lamb and naturally the beef and chicken is halal. I had the buffalo chicken + burger combination and it was finger licking delicious. The burgers were cooked well and the sauce and bun combo (no crumbly buns here!) was great. My friend had the chili burger which he equally enjoyed. He's white (so he knows his burgers!) and was equally as impressed as I was. We will be returning! Posted on May 28, 2013 |

★★★★★ I heard great things about this place so I decided to make the ~30min trip there from my home and it was TOTALLY worth it. Best halal burger joint in the city. Big Moes was the best but is now second to Burgernator. My cousin agrees too. The burgers were made by the owners themselves, who are Muslim. There are a lot of choices on the menu, and a bunch of topping choices. I had the burger that came with 2 6oz beef patties, a fried egg, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomato, lettuce, and burgernator sauce. It was pretty massive, n messy (which i expected) but enjoyable for me.
My cousin had a burger with a 60z beef patty, deep-fried herb crusted cheese, tomato, lettuce, with a sundried tomato aioli. He started smiling after the first bite :)
We also had the home-cut fries, which tasted fresh too. I was disappointed to see that on one of their burgers they were serving a topping called beer braised onions.
The burgers are pricier than Big Moes but you get what you pay for at Burgernator. I will definitely make the trip back there again. Posted on March 4, 2013 |

★★★★☆ I had the Big Bang burger and it was great. Has good sized beef patty topped with Chicken Strips and has the Burgernator sauce. We also tried the Jerk Fries (since they ran out of Poutine), which was also very good. Others in my party had the Chicken Burger, and it was OK. Prices are a little on the high side, but they make the burgers fresh and overall it was a good experience. Posted on August 24, 2017 |

★☆☆☆☆ Please read - After hearing many good things about this restaurant, decided to try it out for the first time. I was truly disappointed on many levels. 1. It feels like a street food vendor atmosphere, very unclean, you have to get your own table, the cashier mentioned it's best you order the food, and then find yourself a seat - which doesn't make sense since i'm trying to dine-in. To top it off, there was a 8inch long hair in my chilli fries, and upon returning it to the cashier, did not recieve any appology, simply a note to the cooks to make a "new one." Since I had ordered the burger with it too, they returned the burger to me indicating, "oh, this should be good!" I lost my appetite and returned everything, and they even asked for a tip, which I never got back since I never ate anything. I can only imagine what type of hair the burger might have hidden, however, they were very unhygienic, and would certainly not be returning. Very sad. Posted on February 24, 2017 |

★★★★★ I visited this place by myself in November 2014, revisited with my brother and a friend in February 2015, and then again yesterday as a family of four. Each time, I've said Salam to the very-nice brother behind the register who's ready to take your order. This place is, by far, the most high-end Halal restaurant I've been to. As someone who works as a brand manager, I must give compliments to the designer of this hipster-esque place. Everything looks like a trendy hipster was given a day to design this place. I love the black-white, rustic theme. I always go for the Big Bang burger, my brother for the Bulldozer, my other brother for the Burgernator (literally 2 thick beef-patties in between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as buns), and my mom for the Spicy Spicy. I love the ideas, I love the presentation, and I love the atmosphere. The place is located in a not-so good location, but that's because the entire area is in that 'artsy' place of any city. Now that I've visited this place for the third time, I would suggest Burgernator add some new offering to their menu. I suppose they haven't had to do so since every time I've been here, there are always people chowing down. In fact, this place was awarded blogTO's Top 10 Burger Places and The Culture Trip's Top 5 Burger Places in Kensington Market. The burgers are pricey, but they make for some perfect foodie-photos. The fries are spectacular (home-cut), the shakes are delicious (local ice cream), and presentation is barebones. (which I love) Unfortunately, there has been one thing I haven't liked every time I've tried: the Burgernator Sauce. You would think it's some thick, tangy, smokey, and delicious sauce that they apply to their burgers and fries, but it's actually a very bland sauce, loaded with red kidney-beans. It literally seems like it was made in a giant pot and ingredients are just thrown in. In fact, everyone I've visited Burgernator with hasn't liked it either. Maybe Burgernator should revamp it? I think that could do wonders for you. (and you can contact me if you want an idea of how to make something that would compliment your food nicely) In any case, make the decision to go to Burgernator I pledge with their slogan, "the burger is our weapon, the city is our battlefield." ★★★☆☆ Heard a lot of raving reviews. Thought it was a good so decided to drive from Markhem to downtown (45 mins) in grueling heat and traffic to find the experience Average. It was not worth the trip if it was right next to my house I would probably go there again but for now all I can say is that now I know how Wendy burger would be like. One less restaurant to worry about Posted on August 15, 2015 |

★★★★★ Honestly speaking... I don't think I've even seen a better hallal burger place in the GTA. The burgers are awesome. Might be a bit too oily for some but if you are okay with that, the burgers here are amazing. Coming for a foodie person, 5 stars for taste and presentation. It's a little bit expensive but no one goes to the burgernator everyday so it's okay. Gonna leave 5 stars for these guys coz I am reviewing food, not price. Posted on September 23, 2014 |

Not a big fan of their fries, but will definitely go back for the burger. Posted on August 19, 2014 |

★★★★★ Excellent juicy burgers that is freshly made. They even offer gluten free buns!!
I had a lengthy discussion with the owner "Ibrahim" and he confirmed that EVERYTHING on their menu is Halal. Even when they used to make Turkey burgers, it was halal turkey.
Very nice establishment and would go there every time I visit Toronto. Posted on August 13, 2014 |

Seriously, this is the best HALAL burger joint in all of Toronto.
Service/Quality/Price are sooooo good.
My sister and I keep going back and we will continue to do so :) Posted on June 3, 2014 |

★★★★★ Just to clarify on the last post. It's beef bacon and the whole menu is halal. Next time ask!
Went with my family and we ordered the burgernator ,the Big Bang , island fever and sergeant burgers. It was totally worth it. Food was well prepared and came quickly. Great fun place with good food. Will definitely go again. Posted on May 18, 2014 |

★★★★★ Loved the place! Great service and great food. I had The Burgernator and it's the best burger I've ever had. The beef patty was crispy on the outside and moist inside. I highly recommend it! I will definitely come again the next time I visit Toronto. Posted on May 11, 2014 |

★★★★★ I had The Big Bang and it was the best burger I have had in my life. The owners are super nice and although I arrived when they closed they still made food for us. I look forward to going again when they are not closed as the restaurant looks pretty fun as I noticed games there. I can't wait until summer and hope they have a patio. Posted on April 29, 2014 |

★★★★★ Really good burgers. The meat is the best. I think the bread may have been a little stale but the burgers were still amazing. Some of the best halal burgers I have had in North America. Probably top 3. Would return for sure. Cool location, cool decor, solid. The restroom could be neater. Posted on April 16, 2014 |

★★★★★ Hasta La Vista Baby
Tried the following:
Atomic, Bazooka, The Big Bang, Lamb Sandwich (off menu special) and of course The Burgenator!
Their meat quality and texture is super, they use creative ways to differentiate each burger but ensure that the meat can still be tasted and is not overwhelmed with sauce or condiments.
Kensington market makes for a brilliant location with sufficient seating indoors and options to sit out during summer. It is very trendy enjoyed by people from all backgrounds. In a city which has immense non halal options, for non-Muslims to come here speaks a lot about this place has to offer.
Top Recommendation! Posted on December 11, 2013 |

★★★★★ Their THE BIG BANG burger is a must try. One of the best burger joints in GTA. I love their regular fries as well with bugernator sauce. The food is very filling and a bit pricey.
I was disappointed with the Pouting. Posted on December 5, 2013 |

★★★★★ Really nice and unique burger experience. Filling 6oz lamb burger combo was special for this week and I enjoyed every bit of it. A little expensive but considering how carefully they're made, I felt ok to pay the extra buck. Thanks to the owners and hope it gets better! Posted on October 29, 2013 |

★★★★★ the place is really nice (good decor), great atmosphere and the staff is really friendly. the burgers and fries are delicious. Not too badly priced and they are HUGE burgers. they are also served creatively in a little metal tray. would definitely recommend it. Posted on October 26, 2013 |

★★★★★ WOW! was downtown for eid and stopped at this place with my family. It was awesome. The owner was super nice and made our experience really good. I really liked the atmosphere and the creative names for the burgers. Fries were also really good. portions were great for the price. Parking is an issue, but it's downtown toronto as to be expected. ★★★★★ Visited this place twice while I was in Toronto. Decided to visit after the raving reviews I read. Owners were friendly and the place was quite busy.
Probably the best and only legit halal burgers I have had. The patties were juicy and tasted fresh, condiments were plenty and their onion rings were amazing. All the burgers are quite large. Would definitely visit again! Posted on October 10, 2013 |

★★★★★ Probably the best burgers I've ever had. I ordered one with two beef patties and a fried egg, very big and messy but worth it. And the sweet potato fries and dipping sauce, out of this world, but a little greasy. It's in a trendy part of downtown, but parking can be a little tricky at times. Next time I'm in downtown, will be definitely going back. Posted on September 2, 2013 |

★★★★★ If u love burgers and halal ones, then this is your spot.
There is choice, quality, service and overall a great atmosphere.
Burgers are juicy, and freshly made hence no fast food feel. On this note, u have to wait for ur burger :)
I'm Burgenating :) Posted on July 1, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Nice burgers that are all made fresh on site. It's nice place to try a trendy burger, buts it not your everyday fast food joint due to high prices. Average burger is $9 which makes it hard to compare to any other burger place in the country. Seems like its doing well, lets see in a couple of years when the novelty of a trendy halal burger joint wears off. Posted on June 16, 2013 |

★★★★★ Finally a burger place downtown where a muslim can eat like a non-muslim! Now when my friends talk about Burger Priest or Holy Chuck, i have an idea what theyre talking about.....there were more white people than muslim lol. My wife and i had the Atomic and the Big Bang--both excellent. We tried the poutine tho and imho not really worth trying. Fries on there own are good though. Def gonna come back here! NR So why is this place partly halal? What isn't halal here? Posted on April 5, 2013 |
You need to specifically ask for Halal options |
Hey! Thanks for the question!
Its all Halal, except for the Turkey burger. Everything on the menu is halal and no requests for halal items have to be made.
Hope we see you burgernate soon!
