★★★★★ السلام عليكم ورحمة الله
A 2nd perspective differing from Irfan's
I believe this restaurant deserves 5 stars for my 2 visits. Alhamdulillah, I was blessed to take my wife to this restaurant for dinner the first time. The service was timely and the food was unique & excellent. This was again the case for lunch: timely and delicious.
I am a Muslim revert with a Chinese American background - the food here reminds me of my grandmother's city of Zheng Zhou, China. I can say that the cumin here tastes exactly like the cumin they use in her province, sweet and probably grown in Xin Jiang.
The rich beef noodle soup reminds me of the dense night crowds of Taiwan, the lamb skewers remind me of Muslims in China laughing & grilling on the street, and the butter tea reminds me of star-filled night of Tibet where Allah let me experience the last generation of nomadic yak-herders whose children are urbanizing and trading the self sufficiency of living with Allah's creation for industrial logic & power. Subhanallah. Is not Allah the best creator?
If you want a window into East Asia, come here and catch a whiff and a taste. The stories and struggles of the people, well, that you'll have to seek and travel for.
Assalaaam alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakaatuhu

★★★☆☆ Came here for lunch. Service was kinda slow since they just opened last month and don't have enough staff. Ordered the Polo (Pilaf with shredded lamb and carrots). It was good, but not as flavorful as what I was expecting. I will come back again to try some of their other menu items like noodles and skewers which Uyghur Cuisine is known for.
