★★★☆☆ As a local, there has always been a doubt about this place. Many local muslim have conflicting information about this place. Some say it is halal and they only take the owners words, others say that they have eaten from there and do not want to hear that this place is not halal.
Please do your own research about this place before eating it. I've never heard of the local hindu's say that this place is halal yet for us muslims all of a sudden this place is halal? I wouldn't eat here unless I get something vegetarian.
Also, in terms of the store, the prices are high compared to other neighboring cities Indo Pak grocery stores. I try to avoid this place even in emergencies but I know many muslims who like to go here just because they do not have to drive to Artesia or another "desi" halal place.
again, if we truly care to eat Zabihah, we need to do some research and/or know that someone trustworthy already did so and they understand the meaning of Zabihah.
May Allah guide us and help us all. Ameen. Posted on May 26, 2017 |

★★★★☆ Bhanu's consists of a grocery store selling Indian provisions and a sit-down restaurant (with takeout and delivery available as well). The staff confirmed that all meat served at the restaurant is halal, although the owners are Hindus. The food was not the best Desi food I've ever had, but it was very solid with plenty of options. The grocery store does not sell fresh meat, but there are frozen meat products (e.g. chicken patties, seekh kabobs, etc.) and prepared meals (e.g. chicken tikka masala, nihari, etc.) with halal certification. Overall, a good option for when you're craving Desi food. Posted on February 3, 2017 |
