★★★★★ The food was really good. I ordered the chicken tom yam and I can say it is one of the best I have ever tasted in the US. The portion size also is quite big. The service also was good. I will definitely comeback to this shop again. Posted on January 17, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ DEFINITELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!!
I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant last night. I ordered a soup which came out to be really sour and we could not eat it. I requested that the soup either be replaced with some other soup or that we do not get charged for it as it tasted really awful. Rather than accommodating the customer, owner choose to claim that the soup is done correctly and that I would get charged for it. Waiters insisted that in the menu it was mentioned that it was sour. I just could not understand how this restaurant could still be in business not knowing customer satisfaction etiquette. Once a customer nicely requests that their food is not up to the expectation, you simply accommodate. Rather, they choose to ruin our night for $7.95.
I have come here before (about 1 year back) and liked the service and food then. But this has changed. I guess ownership of the restaurant has changed. We did order the same food but it was presented differently, the food tasted well below average. I also do not think they use halal meat either. If they are frugal enough to charge you $7.95 for a junk soup, they would not bother to purchase halal meat at a premium. Muslim customers, please be aware and save yourself from a long headache. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Posted on January 4, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ It pains me to write this review because this looks like a once-nicely run and appreciated place that has run into disrepair. The wait staff is terrible. They are slow and inefficient. Our groups had dinner here on Christmas Eve. There were two groups there already - one had their meal and one did not. We ordered through some language barriers. The wait began. At the next table, the owner - Noor Khan, I believe - kept checking and verifying the order. Their food arrived before ours and they had missing plates. We got one of their dishes also. Two of our orders then arrived. We waited about 30 more minutes for the others to arrive. By then, those two plates were cold. We complained about the slow service to the manager and told her we were missing a plate. She said they had not started on that order. We were sick of waiting - by then it had been more than an hour from ordering - and eat our food. We complained about the poor service to the owners, who were defensive and refused to remove the automatic gratuity added to our bill. We will NOT be back. Posted on January 3, 2015 |

★★★★★ I definitely recommend this place to everybody. Foods are very yummy, place is very clean, staffs are very friendly and humble. Price is not very expensive. I love their menu design. They put the pictures of foods on menu to see which is which. Also, they clearly defined that foods are halal on the menu... Posted on May 27, 2014 |

★★★★★ Great Halal Thai place!
We've been to Thailand many times so we love good Halal Thai food!
Rarely we find here in California a place like this.
Tom Yum Goon(spicy sour shrimp soup) and Basil chicken are delicious!
Sr. Aminah (owner's wife) she MashAllah cooks very well.
Favorite stop in SF. Posted on November 23, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Great Thai food. However the drunken noodles are not to my liking. The Tom Yam and chicken wings were great. We also had the phad thai and they were awesome.
Location is a bit rough, though on the inside u feel cosy and comfortable. Posted on October 21, 2013 |

★★★★★ I love this place. Service is good. Can get busy at times...Obviously like Fri and Sat night. My husband and I usually order the Chicken Satay, Drunken Ki Mao (Beef) and Sam Sai Hai. Try these if you are there. Oh....I love their Thai Tea!!! Posted on November 16, 2012 |

★★★★★ what a fantastic meal. first time we had authentic thai food that was 100% halaal (no need to stick to vegan options!)
Friendly and polite staff, tasty - no delicious foods with regular checkups to ask if we are ok or need anything.
decor was basic, lots of Islamic art and ayats all over the walls, also frequented by many other Muslims too. If i ever come back to SFO, i'll definitely revisit Bang San! Posted on November 12, 2012 |

★★★★★ Have been here twice, once a year ago while in SF for a conference and this year while on vacation with my family. Both times I was very satisfied with the food and service. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The neighborhood looks much worse at night than it does during the day. Posted on July 4, 2012 |

★★★★★ Had guai tiew gai koor and spring rolls for dinner today. Theres limited halal places open for dinner in financial district, this place delivers for free and it doesnt take long so its perfect! Took 30 min fr order time to reach my desk! The food had a really big portion, I mean really big! It's definitely a sharing portion and it taste good too! Very cheap for the size n d fact that they deliver for free, their price generally ranges below $10. This is what i call value for money! Good food, large portion Posted on March 5, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Came here during a recent visit to the city, mostly because of the generally positive reviews that I read here.
The food was really good. Portions were good too.
When I was there, they had free WiFi for their clients. Posted on February 8, 2012 |

★★★★☆ I accidentally stumbled onto this restaurant when it was on Jones and cramped and have been coming back ever since. My husband who doesn't even like Thai food very much likes it here!
The new place is strange, while the old one was really close the the other halal restaurants in the Tandoori-Loin, the new one is not and the surroundings are sometimes a little sketch. Plus the furniture is a bit cumbersome and the constant karaoke that is playing in the background can be annoying at times.
However, the food is great. Not as great as a restaurant on Euclid in LA that I use to visit a lot back in college, but great nonetheless.
The service can be on or off, but the food is consistent. Noodles, especially Pad Wun Sen (glass noodles), Pad Thai (medium stir fry noodles), Pad See Ew (thick stir fry noodles) are wonderful, it just depends on what kind of noodles one likes. I love "drunken noodles" the most. No alcohol used, that's just the name of the dish.
We sometimes get yellow curry with rice and that is nice too. BBQ anything, esp. beef is a must and use the sauce that comes on the plate, it is reminiscent of beef salad at other Thai venues. The calamari can sometimes be tough. The satee is also pretty good. And I always try to drink some soup and get some thai iced tea, it is yummy! Posted on January 12, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Pretty good food and I paid only 8 USD for it(red curry). The service was great and it was filled with Malaysian teenagers eating together wearing hijab. The Food was made quickly as well Posted on January 3, 2012 |

★★★★★ the service was excellent, a way better then the restaurant in Los Angeles that I visited earlier. Friendly service and consider very cheap compared to the food portion. Insyallah I'll go again today. Posted on December 31, 2011 |

★★★★★ omA (Oh my Allah)... what a place. The food was great. I was on an official trip with a Chinese colleague. Since he has no dietary restriction, he let me pick the restaurant every time. Even he loved this one. That chicken-on-a-stick thingy (like a lollipop) is amazing.. no.. its A+mazing. The noodle soup was great as well... Its a small place though... so I would call it a little gem. Posted on February 4, 2011 |

★★★★★ Went here for dinner and it was great. This place is a lot better than its other location on Jones street. Here there is adequate seating and the place is quite spacious. It is very neat and clean with a nice ambiance. Service is spectacular at the staff is very friendly and the food is great. I had the hot and sour soup with chicken and it tasted wonderful. Posted on November 2, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Ordered for delivery. Came quite fast (given how it's only a 30 minutes distance). The food is real authentic Thai dishes! And worth the price. Wouldn't mind ordering from them the next time I'm in SF. Posted on April 10, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Friendly atmosphere and staff, clean restaurant. Neighbourhood is not great but still ok. Food is quite nice if you are into Thai cuisine and it is not very expensive either. Good experience over all. Posted on March 23, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Not located in the greatest area. It was clean and the waiter was friendly. Has a bathroom. Didn't like the water and I found out I am not a fan of Thai food. Posted on December 31, 2009 |

★★★★★ Love this restaurant!!! Halal thai food and ridiculously good Thai food at that. Ive been here a few times and here are my Absolute Favorites: Chicken Fried rice, CHickent/Beef Satay, Pad Thai, Green curry.. the list goes on. Its located in a busy district of San Francisco but parking should not be too hard to find. The food is simple delicious. Highly recommended and am looking forward to ordering take out this weekend :) Posted on September 18, 2009 |

★★★★★ Wide selection of dishes available. Authentic thai food and halal. Great experience, only problem is the neighborhood. Posted on March 7, 2009 |

★★★★★ We visited Bang Sai at O'Farrell recently and alhumdullilah enjoyed the duck noodle soup, barbeque lamb and larb (minced chicken salad). The food was excellent and the service was good. The restaurant is family-friendly and street parking was not hard to find. The owners are very particular about ensuring hand-slaughtered dabiha meat and recently changed supplier to ensure that the meat was hand-slaughtered. Posted on December 29, 2008 |

★★★★★ This restuarant is one of the if not the only best restaurant in the bay area. If you want good food, service and decent prices, you should go here. The thai food is authentic and tastes like you are actually sitting in Thailand. I took some people from out of town here and they loved it, which was good b/c usually I end up taking them to some place where I'm like well we could've done better. Delicious drunken noodles!! Posted on September 3, 2008 |

★★★★★ This place is much better than the original one on Jones St. It has a nice and spacious interior. Quick and Friendly Service and Very delicious food! I also like the fact that they have some Islamic artwork and pictures inside the restaurant and also that they very clearly put "Halal Meat" on top of the menu! I wish all Muslim Restaurants did this, so there is no doubt and people dont have to feel weird or uncomfortable about asking if the meat is Halal or not! Please support this place!
