NR I imagine this could suffice for Afghani food. There is a lot less effort here on the surroundings, it's more geared towards the late night crowd I guess.
FOOD: The food itself is very reasonably priced and tasted OK but I felt the rice was too sticky and not those nicely separated grains of rice you at the Afghani restaurant in Henrietta. It tastes like something an Afghani bachelor cooks up in his college dorm.
BUSINESS PRACTICES: By phone I was assured the meat was halal. However, en route to Monroe Kabob I saw a corner store selling liquor called "Kabul Market" one block down. I put 2 and 2 together and surmised that an Afghani store a block away from another Afghani store probably suggests the same people. Sure enough, the man who took our order at one point walked down to the liquor store with some appetizers, then came back with an item for himself from that store. I wasn't feeling too confident about the halal assurance I received when they are so cozy with Muslims selling liquor which is prohibited for us. Others may not care; but for us I feel it is important to support ethical Muslim businesses. May Allah guide them and us. Posted on June 24, 2015
