★☆☆☆☆ This place has been on the list to try for a while because of all the great reviews that it has reviewed. Since we were in Richmond and close to the establishment we decided to stop by.
Let’s kick it off with the service, could it get any worse? Walked in and waited by the door, the lady screamed from across the restaurant 2 people? And pointed to 2 tables for us to sit. Looked like she was rushing us to order, eat and get out. Complained about how busy she was and how much work she had. There were 3/4 tables and looked like 2/3 servers were working, but she was the only one complaining and trying to handle everything. How can you complain to customers that you are tired and have been working very hard. The complaining and nagging of her working hard could be heard through out the restaurant.
Yes, the disappointment continues!!!
So let’s talk about the food! Mantu - 3 pieces for $16, no flavor, all you tasted was the garlic that is mixed with the yogurt. We had also ordered Chicken Tikka Kabob and Beef Kobidah Kabob. Again where is the flavor and seasoning? Why is the food so bland, the only thing in the entree that tasted good was the veggies. The beef had a smell to it, not sure if it was old or the yogurt was bad. The chicken was okay, but no flavor just the flavor from tomato paste on top of the chicken. Same thing with the rice it was blend and cold. The Qabuli rice had a few pieces of carrots and raises, the Zereshk rice had only 3 pieces of cranberries. The naan was old, burnt and tasted weird. Looked like the Naan was left over from other tables that we had received and paid for.
Overall the experience at this establishment was horrible!! Posted on May 10, 2023
