★★★★★ Growing up in Mombasa and now living in Toronto, I'm always keen to try out good East African style restaurants and Klassic kitchen meets all the expectations. When my family visited, we went to KK as a group of 7 which gave us the opportunity to order a variety of items. I highly recommend the Chicken Mishkaki, Chicken Poussin, Ribs, Kababs and the Zanzibari Mix. All the dishes were prepared in a very timely manner and extremely flavourful. We loved the efficient service and quality of the food. The prices can be/are on the higher side but the food more than makes up for it. A must visit Restaurant. Their Kichro and Kuku Paka (Sunday Specials) are definitely worth a try! Posted on December 6, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ Nothing "Klassic" about this place.
Food is just average. Owner acts like he is some renowned chef.
Service/Quality/Price are subpar.
There are several other East African establishments out there - check those out. Posted on June 3, 2014 |

★★★★☆ The chicken poussin is a great dish to try and highly recommended on your first visit! Also, try the veal mishkaki - it was very tender/soft. You can't go wrong with the zanzibari mix - it takes you all the way back to zanzibar! Don't forget to try 'k-t shop' style kababs for starters!! Posted on September 8, 2013 |

★★★★★ I' m from new york Best food in town, every thing is excellent and best service. Got to eat kebabs, bhajia and mix with mishkaki. Posted on August 30, 2013 |

★★★★★ To say the food of this restaurant is bad would be outrageous!! The kebabs made me feel like I was in my home town of Tanzania eating in keti shop! The mish-kaki was just simpley amazing the taste was like something I have never eaten before and the meat was just amazing! My son who barley finishes his food ate a whole burger for the first time! Their is no doubt in my mind that I will be coming back for more! Posted on August 30, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Reasons why you shouldn't go:
Expensive
RUDE - Did I say Rude? I mean't it. The owner is outright rude, has NO customer service skills.
Mix- Potato Chips?!?!? Seriously?
Their Kebabs aren't bad. They aren't the famous kenya/tanzania restaurant quality they're a decent home made kind.
But the owner kills the enjoyment! Posted on August 26, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Been to this place twice in two years and my thoughts remain the same. Never ever ever go for a sit down meal. Eat in the parking lot, eat at home, doesn't matter because you be shocked by the service the owner gives or should I say..... Total lack of service. Price point is high. Quality is average, it seems like the owners wife does all the cooking and I think she try's but overall doesn't hit the mark.
The mix had potato chips in it. That is a total sin. Fail!
The fish was frozen and per batter. Looks like something you pick up at Costco. Fail!
The burger is nothing special and very dry. Fail!
The ribs..... Short ribs can taste amazing, but you must learn to prepare them correctly. Otherwise they just taste boiled and fatty. Turn the heat up on the grill and add some charred bbq flavor. Big Fail!
Service. Total Fail. Just call up and order your food and take it home. This guy needs to learn about customer service.
Great location, but it's time to think of the future if you want to be a leader in the food world. Posted on August 19, 2013 |

★★★★★ I give this restaurant a 5/5. Service is excellent, atmosphere is very cozy, and the best part is THE FOOD!! Everything on the menu is a must-try but their Philly cheese steak sandwich is to die for. Excellent bun and the meat is sooo soft and very tasty!!! Also their chicken poussin and beef mishkaki is are both my favorite!!! Will recommend it to anyone!!! Posted on May 30, 2013 |

★★★★★ Love the food at this place. The owner is east African Indian and brings that flavor to the area. Menu reminds me of back home. The mishkaki is awesome and must be eaten on site right away for best results. Prices are average for portions. Must try this place. Posted on April 8, 2013 |

★★★★★ This is a MUST try restaurant!! - The menu selection is different from all other places. The quality of the food is very good & the taste is delicious. Meat is always tender and juicy and the chicken is always well done. Hats off to the Chef !! Posted on December 27, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Generous portions.. My personal fav is the Ribs & Masala Fries (Always Tender and Juicy!).. Great place for various kinds of East African dishes..! Posted on December 23, 2012 |

★★★★★ I stop by to pickup lunch a few times a week and the food is outstanding. Just the correct blend of spices for everything on the menu.
The spicy fries is a must try. I got almost half the office hooked onto them. While spicy isn't the norm for my colleagues, these fries are hard to say no too.
In order to enjoy fresh food, patience of a few minutes is worth it. Posted on December 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ Really good food. The masala fries alone are worth trying this place out. Good value. The food is unique and really tasty. A must try. Ribs, lamb chops and especially the mishkaki. Posted on December 5, 2012 |

★★★★★ In the mood for the MOST amazing halaal Poutine in town?! THIS is the place! Just the right amount of gravy and melted stringy cheese! Yummers! I was skeptical of the jalapeno and onion toppings that the owner recommended but I was glad I took his advice. It was phenomenal!
Visited the restaurant with a couple coworkers during lunch and enjoyed the boneless chicken, just so tender and absolutely juicy, not to mention the steak sandwich which was perfect for a quick lunch.
I'd definitely go back, heck might just stop by there for lunch tomorrow!! Posted on September 24, 2012 |

★★★★★ The lamb chops were marinated to perfection, grilled for the perfect amount of time, and the meat was lusciously tender.
The chicken mishkaki is also something I will order again. Great flavour, and cooked to perfection!
hats off to the chef! Posted on August 24, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I decided to make a trip here due to the positive reviews but such a disappointment. I went in at 6:20 pm. This is how it went: I walk in and the owner comes out from inside. I ask for a menu and he gives me a nasty look and sighs and hands the menu. Then just two seconds later asks me if I'm going to eat in. I say yes and he says he will close at 7 and only opened the store due to some festival otherwise it would be close. So I decide I'll take out (inspite of the attitude I decided to give the food a chance). So I ask my husband what he wants and owner interrupts asking what I want to order. I ask him for an item on the menu and he says he doesn't have it and says the most sarcastic thank you and dismisses us. I was quite shocked with the behavior and left. Needless to say, will not be going there again and unless you like being treated like shit, I would advise you don't go either. Posted on August 19, 2012 |

★★★★★ Went with family of 4. Total 6 with 2 Kids. Had Kababs, Bhajias and Muhogo as starters. Reminded me of Dar-es-Salaam's KT Shop for Kabab's. Owner recommended Mishkaki and Chops with Masala fries. At first was reluctant as per some reviews but tell you, he was so right the best I have eaten so far in Toronto. Chops were perfectly done and were the best, tender and the marination is superb. The bill came to $12.75 per person.......cannot go wrong. All what I have heard is all....The food is good, environment is clean and cosy.....service the best I got...........personal.. will definitely visit again. Posted on May 31, 2012 |

★★★★★ Reading some of the negative comments SURPRISE ME! I'm a regular at Klassic Kitchen....my husband and I visit this place once a week on average! (P.S. my father in law loves this place!)...The food is absolutely delicious! Props to the chef =)
The philly cheese steak is my favourite! the masala fries are to die for! Amazing and tender lamb chops and ribs! my new favourite is the boneless chicken mishkaki....its just SO JUICY!! The portions are massive i can never finish my plate, and my husband always says one meal of klassic is enough to get him through an entire day!
My advice disregard the haters, and try it for yourself! =) Posted on May 25, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Meh it was alright. Owner is friendly to customers that buy more than a cup of tea, even though he has a big sign in coca cola font reading "cup of chai" lol. Had some friends drop in while me and my wife were having the philly cheese steak which was ok, and the masala fries were not good at all. I do like the coco cola themed place hence the 3 stars. ★★★★★ This is definitely world class food. Our favorite items on the menu are the cheeseburger, chicken mishkaki and masala fries. Looking forward to trying the chops and the T-Bone steak! We experienced very friendly and personal customer service., and saw that others were receiving the same. Highly recommend! Posted on May 19, 2012 |

★★★★★ went in for lunch, had a pleasant experience...the philly steak sandwich was excellent, could use a little more beef though - the burger was probably one of the best I have ever had! Didn't have to wait an unreasonably long time for my food.
had dinner once - had the steak, chicken with friend rice, both very good - steak was tender and tasted excellent.
it was a busy night, but the owner went out of his way to greet me and my wife, had a pleasant experience overall! Posted on March 1, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ This restaurant is horrible!
The service is notorious...I asked for a plate as we ordered mogo for 4...and the plates arrived AFTER we were expected to eat from one plate.
The mishkaki was BOILED and then grilled.
The only good item was the masala chips...but not worth the bad service. Posted on February 28, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ It was a very bad experience for me today. 15 min after getting there we managed to order. We were told 20 min for your food. we were 4 adults, 1 6yr old, 1 5yr old and 1 1yr old. After 25 min we got our starters - Samosa and Fried mogo...we asked for the mogo to be without chilli but it came with chilli - after waiting that long...we tried to scrape it off and the 6yr old with difficulty ate it as he loves mogo.
1 hour later the burger arrived for the 5yr old. (we asked for it to be totally plain, it came with everything on it) i asked for a knife and fork so I could cut it into small pieces for my 5yr old to eat. The burger was cold inside and totaly raw. I put a piece in my mouth and spat it out as the meat was totally raw. After waiting all that time, I had to give the burger back. At that point I left with my 1yr old as it had been 1 hour since getting there and no sign of the food. I got home and called my husband (10 min after) he said the food was still not served. As I was hanging up he said it is coming. The ribs were again not cooked properly. the chicken pousin and fries were all fine. As everyone was leaving the owner was somewhat apologetic about the burger but was also trying to justify that he has sold over 100's of burgers and all were fine, the burger has to be juicy! Yes juicy but not raw meat!! He also mentioned that 'I have never seen anyone eating a burger with a knife and fork! - I was cutting the huge burger for a 5 yr old!!
Some customers arrived 30 min after we got there, there food was served 2 min after ours.
I'm sorry 1 hour and 10 min for takeaway style food to be served...not good!
The food maybe good (if cooked properly), but the service is terrible... Posted on February 5, 2012 |

★★★★★ Let's make this easy:
Cheesesteaks: tender meat, very flavorful, good portion size, a definite must try!
Burger: juicy, very flavorful, great portion (6 oz I believe), fresh toppings, great bun-to-burger ratio, can be proudly served in ANY burger joint!
Wings: perfectly cooked, fantastic sauce (wings of heaven), extra napkins needed!
Sausage/Hot Dog: great portion, excellent quality of meat, smoky undertones, topped with whatever you like, downtown flavor with a Klassic taste!
Pepper Steak: if you don't like tender, well-seasoned meat that will make you want to order another and another, then stay away from this one :-)
Mogo/Kababs/Samosas: just like back in East Africa!
Masala Fries: yes masala fries, not McCain Superfries! These masala fries are a staple that must be tried by all spice lovers. It's hot, it's tasty, it's perfect!
Now if u will excuse me, I'm hungry all over again! Posted on January 31, 2012 |

★★★★★ I tried this place over the weekend and enjoyed the food so much, I've been back twice in 5 days already.
The chicken poussin was amazing especially with the massala fries! I also tried the kebabs and somosa's and they were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Hoping to try the Philly cheesesteak next. My son had the burger and he loved it. The food is made fresh so it can take a while to prepare but definitely worth the wait in my opinion. I will certainly be returning!! ★★★★★ The best BBQ joint in town. The food is phenomenal. The lamb chops makes the top of my list, the ribs are amazing, the big fat juicy burger is a mission to finish. The Philly cheese steak is definitely a go. The masala fries are out of this world. Posted on January 31, 2012 |
