★★★☆☆ I went to this place due my trip in August 2013 and found the food to be pretty decent. The price is certainly higher but it is due to its location. The owner claims to be a Muslim but entire restaurant is filled with Non-Islamic Art (Hindu gods and symbols). I asked the owner if he serves alcohol and his reply was that he does not. I went back to the restaurant later in the evening and find that every single table has either wine or beer for its customers. I left not because of alcohol but because I was lied to. ★☆☆☆☆ The food was over-priced for what we got: old warmed food which tasted like plastic. The vegetables were almost rotten and the garlic naan bread was naan bread with sprinkled salt and coriander leaves. The decor was a collection of random pieces of cheap art. The owner of the restaurant kept passing by and starring at us and he couldn't even bother to smile once. So what was he starring for?
Sadly there isn't much choice for halal restaurants in Quebec city. I would recommend to spend time in the city and have dinner in another near-by city.
When the waiter saw we were unsatisfied with the food he gave us a 10% discount. He did his job well. Posted on June 25, 2013 |
