★★★☆☆ Didn't understand the idea of gravy / korma in kabuli pulao . I just could not get the taste of pulao . There is no seperate hukka place . The whole restaraunt was filled with the smell and smoke . Posted on June 21, 2014 |

★★★★★ They are the best ! Have the most delicious lamb chops over brown rice and the potato bolani! No other afghan restaurant in Philly beats them! I love them! Posted on February 19, 2014 |

|
★★★★☆ this place has very good food but it was a lil pricey for me and portion were little smaller too. Must try lamb kabuli pulao! Posted on January 9, 2014 |

★★★★★ Great food - I had the chicken and beef kebabs + beef samoosas with tea. Parking is a challenge. Posted on January 1, 2012 |

★★★★☆ parking was a challenge and the quarters for space is somewhat tight inside the restuarant, but overall the food is well prepared, the kebabs were succelent and soft and juicy..i did enjoy my meal throughout, nice atmosphere, and ambiance also. Posted on December 15, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Nothing like the Afghan restaurants in Fremont, CA but very good in its own right. The lamb kabob was very tender and flavorful. Service was attentive and warm. People in Philly claim this is the premier Afghan restaurant in the city. I can see why. I will return next time i'm in Philly. Posted on February 5, 2011 |

★★★★☆ This place has great food, but it is expensive. The staff was very friendly and nice. The place had a nice ambiance and was neat and clean as well. Posted on November 5, 2010 |

★★★★★ We were visiting Philly and decided to drop by this restaurant. It was delicious and everything was perfect. I had the lamb chops, somosas, bolani and the very very delicious ice cream! Thanks for the great food Ariana :) Posted on June 8, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The premier Afghan restaurant in Philly. I have yet to find another Afghan homestyle restaurant that can give this place a run for its money. Posted on May 14, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ We were visiting Philly and this was the nearest halal restaurant in the area. The food taste great. However, the portions are very very small and the price was really high. The waitress was also busy talking on her blue tooth. But, the food was good. Posted on December 22, 2006 |

★★★★★ Arianas is one of Philadelphia's premier Afghani restaurants. The ambiance is very tasteful, and the family that operates the restaurant is very friendly and courteous. The kabobs are succulent. I'd recommend trying the Ariana Kabob and the sambosas. Check it out - you won't be dissapointed. Posted on December 20, 2006 |

★★★★☆ Small place
Good food
Not sure about the allowing of alcohol, but that doesn't make the meat haram...
The lamb kabob is good and they server BROWN rice, which is GREAT. Posted on January 26, 2006 |

NR They allow alcoholic beverages to be brought in and serverd. I called them up to verfy this and they said they don't serve alcoholic beverages but it can be brought in and consumed with the food. What kind of halal restaurant is this? This can't be a halal restaurant even if the meat is halal. Beware zabiha eaters !!! Posted on June 15, 2005 |

★★★★★ I went to this place throughout the last two years of my undergrad. The food is very good, though not cheap. The decor is impressive and the ethnic touch is beautiful. Every dish I have had I was impressed with. However, what makes this place tops for me in Philadelphia is the service. Every time I go there the staff is great, and the auntie who seems to always be there is helpful and very nice. The personal experience I have had catering from this place for a nice dinner at school was a very good one. To top it off, one night, 11 of us came in for dinner as they were locking the door; they opened up just for us, staying over an hour and a half past closing time to feed some hungry students (granted, they made a good amount of money on us, but still...). ★★★★★ I went to this resturant recently, after a long and a tiring day of apt search in Philadelphia. I was referred to this resturant by my friend and right after I finished food, I called my friend and thanked him for the referral. The food was awesome, not to mention the excellent service.
I tried lamb kobab and my wife took lamb kabli palao. I loved my selection and so as my wife. It is definitely worth trying. I ended dinner witha special green tea. Posted on March 15, 2005 |

★★★★★ Great place, awesome food!! Service is great and very personal, with very friendly servers. Reasonably priced so good for a large group if you make reservations. Try the icecream...mmm Posted on August 7, 2004 |

★★★★★ This is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The service is very personal, the atmosphere is quiet and comfy. And the food - SubhanAllah! It is fragrant, flavorful and fresh. This is truly the best Afghani food I have had. I asked the owner and he told me that all of the meat is in fact Halaal. Posted on June 9, 2004 |

★★★★★ Great place! Mr Soltani and his sister do a great job.
I am a big fan of their Kadu.
I am also not lost in the irony of it being located next to one of the other two Afghani places in Philadelphia. Also, "The Khyber Pass" (A local rock concert venu) is around the corner.
They even have "sit on a rug" seating for up to four! Posted on March 18, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Excellent food at a reasonable price. The menu is halal and the restuarant is well decorated--you can even sit in an "afghan style" table in the window overlooking Chestnut street if you make reservations. Yes, the portions seem a little small but you will most definitely feel full afterwards. Service was okay. Posted on February 12, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ The food is mediocre and the portions are light. The service was not to my liking. They were not attentive and I had to ask for things. For starters they did not serve bread until I asked for it (I ordered an appetizer that is normally ate with bread) and I had to ask for a refill on my drink. Seemed like they were trying to cut corners. Posted on October 1, 2003 |

★★★★★ Not only is the food excellent, but the staff (all Afghan) takes great care to explain the dishes to the inexperienced, and is willing to adjust to the western palate if need be. Great food! Charming restaurant! Posted on March 17, 2002 |
