1083 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07503
Here at Toros Restaurant, we combine the best of our native cuisine to create a menu rich in tradition. From our homeland to your plate, we bring you a wonderful assortment of dishes prepared from family recipes that have been pleasing palates for centuries. The foundation of our food is bread made of wheat flour including ekmek, pide, simit and manti. Grains are equally important, and you will find that bulgur and pilav are staples of the Toros kitchen. Kebabs are yet another favorite, dating back to the time when Turks first learned to cook over open campfires. Added on July 11, 2001 and last updated 5 years ago

★★★★★ Very good food. Service also is excellent. Posted on March 9, 2020 |

★★★★★ This location does not serve alcohol nor does it have the belly dancing. The location on Hazel Ave. in Clifton does. As for the food, they serve amazing Turkish dishes, it's a cozy restaurant with a small parking lot. The decor isn't as nice as the Clifton location. My favorites are the Adana, Chicken Kabab Posted on April 5, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ How is a place considered halal but serve alcohol? How can I trust the owner to care about halal food or ingredients when they serve alcohol? Oh and on certain nights you can see belly dancing. This place shouldn't even be on zabihah. Also, Prices are extremely high for what you get. Posted on December 10, 2013 |
We add restaurants to this site if they offer at least one dish that uses Halal meat that has been specifically prepared by Islamic guidelines. If restaurants offer non-Halal products or alcohol, we show that so that people can decide whether or not to go. |

★★★★★ The meal was not only of high quality, but it arrived quickly. By the time we were half way into the salad the dinner was ready. I can't wait to go back again. Posted on September 14, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ I just visited Toros yest and my experience was far from good. The restaurant's pretty busy (Sat even, 8 pm) and you might have to wait. the hostesses aren't too polite. In fact they rushed us out before our meal was over. they cleared the table (without asking us) even as we were eating, offering to pack the remaining food. This was rude. Food wise - the food was strictly OK. I prefer food at Yakamoz next door. There were no stews on the menu, just kebabs (doner was over at 8 pm). Portion sizes were ok... lots of meat but very little rice and pita. The salads were bad. Posted on August 31, 2008 |

★★★★★ Best turkish cuisine on Main Street. Stick with the lamb and beef dishes- you can't go wrong with any of them. Average dish is between $13-16. I'm a regular, love this place. Posted on January 7, 2007 |

★★★★★ People who think that money can buy them everything have been proven wrong time and again. Toros Restaurant on Main Street, Patterson, NJ drives that point home one more time. Its ambience compared to its sister restaurant (same owner), Toros on Hazel Street in nothing. While Toros on Hazel Street has linen table cloth, Toros on Main Street has dents and dings on its table. Hazel Street is for the nouveau riche whereas Main Street is for poor folks. Nonetheless, while the Lamb Shank dish at Toros at Hazel Street has a better quality shank (more meat) and better quality vegetable, it is the Lamb Shank at Main Street that is more delicious.
I have dinner at this place almost every night during Ramadan (after Tarawi). Having been to Turkey zillions of times, I can say that Toros at Main Street has everyday Turkish home cooking at its best. This is the place for Turkish stews and all those non kabab dishes. Needless to say, it has Kababs also. When you go there do not forget to have some authentic Turkish Tea made from tea from the Black Sea region of Turkey. Posted on February 6, 2006 |

★★★★☆ This place was very nice for a good evening out. I liked all of the yogurt dishes, and the Turkish tea was a nice capper. The place is a little small, so I do not recommend bringing in large parties. For the five of us it was comfortable, but the tables tightly fit in the small confines. Posted on April 23, 2005 |

★★★★☆ My husband took me and the family there for dinner. The food was great. However, I think they should offer a kids meal. The staff was attentive and friendly. I would definately go back. Posted on November 27, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Verified Halal status over the phone, and the verbally from staff. Food is fresh and excelent, their main dish Toros (around $15) is very tasty, and more then enough to fill a single person. Good atmosphere, nice for family. No arrangements for seperate compartments though. The do not serve wine. Posted on August 22, 2004 |

★★★★★ As a regular at Toros for the past few years the ambiance has changed for the better yet the food remains as tasty as ever. A really great assortment of entrees with classicial turkish rythms playing in the background. The staff is very friendly and courteous and the prices are well within reason. If you want a test of the Mediterranean without paying the high cost Toros is worth it. Posted on February 23, 2004 |
