Roopram Roti is originally from Surinam. Because the demand was great for roti on the Dutch market (among others by holidaymakers from Paramaribo), Mr J.Roopram came up with the idea to completely export frozen roti to the Netherlands. Unfortunately they did not succeed at the last moment, because no chicken and chicken parts can be exported from Suriname. Thus Mr. J.Roopram started in July 2002 with his first Roopram Restaurant at Mathenesserplein 89 in Rotterdam. After a lot of success, in May 2004 he opened his second branch at the first of Swindenstraat 4 in Amsterdam under the name Roopram Roti Eetcafé. Meanwhile, two branches have been added in 2012, namely Roopram Roti at Palletplein 89 in The Hague and Roopram Roti at Van Woustraat 37 in Amsterdam .
