★★★★☆ Need to confirm with them that which options are halal since there are non halal options as well. Their lamb was tender and juicy. Gyros are okay but taste more like wraps rather than gyros. Platters are delicious but can be pricey; however they are really generous with portion sizes. Really liked hummus but was dissappointed by Baba Ganoush. Overall a great dining experience.
Note:They do serve alcohol and sheesha, so I would avoid taking people who tend to judge books just by their covers. Posted on December 5, 2017 |

★★☆☆☆ rather uncomfortable atmosphere, and i dont trust that the meat is halal. they serve alcohol which they dont tell u on this listing, and u sit and eat ur seafood while the oh so cultural main streeters sip on their chardonnay. Posted on March 1, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ This not a muslim owned business. The meat is hallal per owners but not Zabihah cut. But I reccommend their Fish and vegetatian menu items. Posted on December 3, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Ali Baba in downtown Newark is a great place to eat with a wonderful atmosphere. Comfortable couch-like chairs and large lap level tables make it easy to kick back for relaxation or pleasant conversation while waiting for the food. I have eaten here many times and love the selection and the quality of the food. I have never been dissapointed. My favorites include the falafel vegetarian sandwich (3.50) and the fettuche salad (~5.00 I think). Lamb gyros and the vegetarian platter are also delicious. In a land of burgers and fries, this is a welcome escape! Posted on May 25, 2004 |
