HALAL SUMMARY
A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant.
★★★★☆ Pros:
1. Their chicken actually HAS flavor compared to the other more famous vendor on the other side of the block with the big crowd.
2. Their rice is more flavorful than many others.
Cons:
1. Sometimes a hit and miss with their rice...At times their rice is hard...Other times it's good.
Overall, I'd recommend them over the other more famous one on the other side of the block with the big crowd that everyone goes crazy about. Posted on May 22, 2010
★★☆☆☆ i tried this guy out based on the reviews... bad choice !!! chicken had no taste, half the platter had vegetables .. the one opposite to him has better meat, and much bigger portions .... Posted on June 15, 2008
★★★★★ Ok this place is the best Gyro or Chicken you wanna go in NYC....the guys are so very decent and its clean! Get the Chicken over Rice or Mixer Gyro and Chicken over rice or regular gyro....this place is amazing and the fact it is very tasty, I have eaten at other gyro carts but this is better cooked meat! The chicken is a little spicy for the Desi crowd whihc is good and thier sauces Mmmmmmmm..... Posted on August 24, 2007
★★★★★ I go here every Friday (no joke). Believe me when I say that I have eaten at all the carts and this one is the BEST. The chicken has delicious flavor and the hot sauce is actually hot and not sour like the other ones. This cart is located right before the cart with the big lines all the time, but trust me that Shelley's cart is the best. I recommend the Chicken and Rice Platter. For people who can't tolerate pepper.......don't put a lot of hot sauce. Oh.....and the rice are Bsmati as well. Posted on December 15, 2006
