Ravagh Persian Grill Restaurants are family owned and operated, with the first location opening in 1998. With the goal of bringing great home cooked Persian food into the lives of many New Yorkers, the Tehrani family believes that great food starts with great ingredients. With a strong attention to detail, ingredients are brought to life in delicious kabobs, stews, and dips. From Persian classics, like Kotlet and Khoresht Fesenjan, to Mediterranean favorites, like Babaganoosh and Hummus, at Ravagh, if we put it on the menu, then we know exactly what went into it, and we can assure you that it's all natural and delicious. Persian cuisine is simply prepared with great technique in order to create a wonderful balance of flavor and aroma. We hope to spread our love for Persian food to all those willing to join us at the table. Noosh-e-joon (Enjoy)! Added on July 6, 2003 and last updated 7 years ago

★★★★★ I've been going to this restaurant for about 2 years now, and I love it each time. The cornish hen with zereshk rice is amazing, as well as the kabob barg. For appetizers, try the salad olivieh and the kashk bademjan, trust me, you'll love it. As for the lack of white sauce, there is none with Persian food! Come on people, cultivate yourselves a little, not everything middle eastern has to come with "white sauce." The food is so succulent that it does not require anything additional, but they would of course give you some yogurt if you wanted it. Btw, they have added a dessert menu now, and they're pretty good as well. Posted on May 23, 2005 |

★★★★☆ Assalamu alaikum, wow. I loved the food and the service. Though I wouldn't recommend the Panir Sabzi, unless your into that (gourmet cheese with mint leaves and radish). I ordered the Kobideh and it was amazing. I loved the food, but the overall restaurant wasn't too apreciable because of the open bar area and lack of white sauce that is the preferable topping on any middle eastern food. The ambience was amazing, and so was the integrity of the food. Prices were a little above average, but very reasonable. I wasn't anticipating the open bar when I recommended to eat here for my MSA, but it didn't really make much of a difference until the waitress asked us if we wanted coke beer or wine, which was a little awkward, but no one was bothered by this gesture. I couldn't find a place where it was written that this place was halal, but I asked inside, and someone told me it was. Posted on February 11, 2005 |

★★★★★ The cornish chicken kebab is excellent! Large, large servings, succulent kebabs. I verified, and the food is Halal. Though, when I ordered tea, I thought I would be getting Persion tea. Turned out it was regular black tea. No dessert menu though. Posted on October 22, 2004 |

★★★☆☆ I had the "kabob kobideh" with tender beef and lamb--quite flavorful. As a model who grew up in France, I am used to eating practically anything that moves :) But even I had trouble with the "Baghali Polo with Mahicheh" (veal shank)--it was too pink and "raw". I prefer meat from crated, milk-fed calves, and I like it cooked properly! Posted on June 11, 2004 |

★★★★★ The best place to find Halal Persian food in the City. Portions are great, food quality is one of the best I have seen in NY. Service is quite good. They dont give you a wine list, but you can order it. Prices are reasonable. Posted on July 6, 2003 |
