NR It is now sept 2019 and I can’t find this place. I think they are closed Posted on September 28, 2019 |

★★★☆☆ The place looked nice but to be honest we weren't really encouraged by the belly dancing thing. We were craving meat so we went anyways. Food wasn't bad but didn't have a lot of flavour. Clean nonetheless. Wouldn't go again though! Posted on February 5, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ Food is good but price is a little High. Good atmosphere. Enjoyed the food. Greeting was good, and hostess was very nice. Posted on February 17, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ I'm not sure as to what is halal in this joint--certainly not all the alcohol they sell there!--not to mention, recommend! The food here is OK--not a lot of flavor at all. The only flavorful things were the kebabs. A lot of the dishes consisted of a little bit of meat, some grilled tomatoes and onions... and like a pound or two of white rice. The stuff here is also ridiculously overpriced--like 20 bucks a dish! Another thing for conservative people to note: there is belly dancing at this place.
I have gone there multiple times. I'm am no longer in the area, but even if I was, I would not consider this place again. Posted on December 20, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ My family and I went to this restaurant under the impression that the menu was at least partially halal and the owners were Muslim (according to Zabihah.com). When we arrived, we were not greeted pleasantly and the waiter was actually quite rude (because we were wearing hijab). We wanted to leave but because it was my brother's birthday, we didn't want the night to be ruined.
Wine was a major part of the menu and with each food listing, there were wine/alcoholic recommendations.
The owners stated that their meat is halal because it is "cheaper" for them to buy halal meat than it is to buy non-halal meat. Their meat was NOT halal for the right reasons. We ended up not ordering any meat dishes for the Muslims in our table.
As a Persian, the food was actually quite flavorless. We asked for an eggplant stew (without meat) and basically got eggplant in water (it had no flavor). A simple yogurt drink (1 cup) cost $6.00 each. We ordered 2 eggplant stews, 1 veggie kabob (burnt onions, tomato and bell peppers), rice and 1 chicken kabob for our American, non-Muslim friend. We ended up paying $160.00 (gratuity included) and when we paid $200 cash to pay the bill, they didn't want to bring our change back (we already paid gratuity and they wanted another $40 in tip).
The food was extremely expensive, distasteful and was definitely not worth the price. The service was unacceptable.
I discourage any kind of dining at this restaurant and I hope this restaurant will be removed from Zabihah.com Posted on February 7, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The food was good, owner confirmed what is halal. Very nice setting, clean and friendly but pricey as most restaurants are in Monterey. Lunch and dinner menu same items, same price. If you just want some halal food Khan's Kabob House 10 minutes away is cheaper but if you want good food and atmosphere visit the Persian Grill Posted on May 25, 2008 |
