★★★★★ Excellent halal food for the right price. Friendly service to all. As we lived in temporary housing for 2 weeks part of relocating to this area, Cafe Lazeez became our personal kitchen as we often are there or ordered to go. Their Chicken curry with Nan is mine and my daughters favorite. My son sticks with burgers often. My wife tries various items as she loves to explore. Hope all have equally great experience. ★☆☆☆☆ The food here used to be pretty good but the quality went down drastically when they changed management. The chicken burgers and seasoned fries went from crisp vegetable toppings and crisp coating to soggy, slimy food with low quality breading and soggy steak fries with a LOT of black spots. They may have changed the supplier for the meats, but they claim to make the sweets in the restaurant and they went from standard Pakistani sweets to low quality, poorly mixed, experimental desserts that look odd and taste terrible. They push the sweets every single time I've been there with the new management (3 times) like it's a specialty or something.
Beyond that, I have had the manager call me when I was 5 minutes late picking up the food to tersely tell me they are waiting for me to come so they can close the shop (which was closing in 15-20 mins). The previous management would stay open an hour after posted closing time routinely because they knew people ordered late night and they valued their customer base. The new guy is your typical 'uncle' type with a rude demeanor and no instinct on how to deal with customers who don't share his background.
I hope the old managers/owners return and take the restaurant back to its old glory because we were regulars to the point of buying for our family AT LEAST once a week. Now I don't want to go back there until I know the old management/owners are back. I would have given them a 4-5 star rating a month ago; now they barely get 1 and would get 0 if it were possible. ★☆☆☆☆ Food is average. They have everything frozen. When they say that they are going to make it there it means that they are going to heat it up for you. The owner is very rude and disrespectful. Prices are way too high for the average quality of food. I would not recommend anyone to go there. Later I found out that there are plenty of good halal restaurants in St. Louis. Just google it. ★★★★★ Great food. Had the chicken tikka sub. Meat pizza. And chicken tikka masala dish. Food took a very long time to come out especially the pizza, but that probably just means the food is made fresh. Decently priced as well. Posted on April 26, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Please ask whether they are using homemade or store-bought tzatziki sauce for their gyro before ordering.
We went there Dec 13 and their tzatziki sauce was common store-bought containing gelatine and was not halal certified. We made them aware of this and by now they should have switched to homemade.
Very disappointed to find this avoidable mistake in a halal certified restaurant.
Also the service was very very slow. Food did not come out at the same time. French fries were delicious, fried chicken not so much.
Wont be returning. Posted on December 19, 2013 |

★★★★☆ I think the owner tries to do a good job but not everything comes out right!
1.Chicken tikka pizza as ppl have mentioned is 5 star. I would recommend adding some vegetable over it.
2.The burgers / subs not good. Need more taste and a seasoning of the bread.
3. Chicken biryani, tastes ok, need to use better grade basmati rice and thicker richer masala. Posted on September 12, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ First time I went, I was pretty disappointed. Order came after forever. I ordered a chicken sandwich. It had a thin layer of chicken strip on it with so much lettuce. That's all. Not even mayo! Second time I went, I ordered chicken tandoori pizza. I gotta admit, it was awesome! Cooked well, cheesy, and yummy! Definitely a must have. Third time, I had their philly cheese steak. This was also pretty good. It was bland, so I added sriracha in it, but it had a lot of meat and cheese and the bread was so good! Overall, you gotta be specific with what you want in your order otherwise they won't bother adding it. Hope this review helps and don't forget to try their pizzas! Posted on September 11, 2013 |

★★★★★ Just had a chicken tikka sub at Cafe Lazeez. It was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and service was also very kind.
The price for the sub+coke=6.99$ tax excl.
This is my first visit to the place, and I expect to return more times in sha Allah. Posted on December 19, 2011 |

★★★★★ steak sandwiches, kabobs and briyani is great. Service is as slow as a Mississippi summer day; but given that the food is so good if you have the time it is worth it. Posted on May 23, 2011 |

★★★★★ Excellent service and food. Highly recommended specialy kaboob and chicken tika kaboob.Waiting time is longer but they cook fresh, very delicious food so its worth of waiting. Posted on December 12, 2010 |

★★★★★ Wow, the beef Kabob there are the best! Better kabobs than other full service Restaurants. I'm picky about eating Zabiha, and the gentleman at the restaurant assured us they only use Zabiha products. The cafe was clean, quick service (placed order on phone), friendly atmosphere. We'll be back. Great Find! Posted on November 8, 2010 |

★★★★★ I have had food from them twice. Once for catering and yesterday for sit-down. The restaurant is very clean and there is a lot of space to sit. I haven't tried the pakistani food but I can say the american food is excellent! The chicken strips are done really well and I think their beef burger is one of the best. Highly recommend if you are in the west county area. Posted on October 30, 2010 |

★★★★★ Wonderful chicken kabab, burger, & chutney. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. I was really able to unwind and have a good time with a friend. Hospitable & religious owner. Only restaurant in St. Louis serving Halal American food. But don't get me wrong, their Desi menu is oh so delicious too! Was very happy to take the burger home and have a late-night meal. ★★★★★ There is no restaurant like this in the Whole USA, with this much varity of American and Desi food. Pizza, Broast chicken, Biryani, Kabobs, Burgers and Subs. So what if service is slow, It does not bother me. Everthing is fresh and tasty. Note! if in a hurry call in advance, Nice website. Guarateed Zabeeha Halal, Local meat suplier. ★★★☆☆ We were there last weekend after looking at the amazing reviews. Their Chiken Tikka pizza no doubt is very good, I wish they had put a little bit more chicken. Philly steak and chicken pannini which were OK. The spring rolls were not good. We did not try any desi food but only kheer, which was average also. Service is rather slow and they also appeared overwhelmed with 3-4 costumers in the resturant. No designated place for sliver ware. I think they just need to organize a little. ★★★☆☆ Desi food Pakistani style was surely needed in the Ballwin area. Nice and clean place, food is more targeted towards American born Muslim generation, so it is a tone down version of desi food . So if you are looking to take your kids to eat I highly recommended. If you want great tasting desi food this not the place. Wait is too long, food was too bland. They need to have spicy and less spicy to meet the taste of kids and parents coming in to eat. Posted on May 20, 2009 |

★★★★★ Whenever we go out we are always puzzled by the Halal claims that are hard to verify. This restaurant is a pleasant opening where not only the food is "Zabiha Halal" but the owners try to make sure that rest of the ingredients like chhese etc is halal too. On top of that the food is awesome. The chicken tikka pizza is something we missed when we came from Pakistan and the subs are great. On top of that the choice for typical entrees' like biryani makes it a one place stop. The prices are outrageously low! Would come back againa nd again. Posted on May 15, 2009 |

★★★★★ I was very thrilled with the heese sticks and read sticks. The hicken strips and ain rice was pretty good too. I even tried the eak & cheese sub which was magical and splendiforous.
I would highly recommend Cafe Lazeez for fine American dining. I am extremely happy that this fine indian cuisine is now available in my hood. The only criticism (and it is a small one) is that there was not enough tikka on my chicken. I'm the kind of guy that just wants gobs of tikka and I felt I needed more gobs.
On a side note I think curry smells bad. Posted on May 15, 2009 |
