Fraidoon (Fred) Izadi’s career started when he arrived in Atlanta, GA in 1977. He supported himself by working in a restaurant as a waiter during his college years. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for the 3M Company as an electrical engineer for 12 years while also continuing to manage a restaurant. His interest in the restaurant business grew and became a passion and his life’s career. In 1997, he bought his first restaurant (Aldo’s Italian Restaurant). In 2002, he opened Merlot Restaurant in Johns Creek, GA. He sold Merlots in 2009 and opened Babas Gyro and Kabob in Cumming, GA in 2010. He sold Baba’s in 2019 and has since been running Persian Kabob Land in Rosewell. He now has opened Rose and Olives Mediterranean Restaurant in Johns Creek, GA with two other partners, Sina Jasemian Azad and Reza Ghorbanian. At Rose & Olives, Fred is excited to offer a healthy and fresh menu and use organic ingredients at every stage of cooking, starting with natural marinades to the finishing plate.
