The menus at this restaurant clearly state that Halal food is served. Readers report that 9 out of the 12 beef options are halal, and chicken is also halal.

★★☆☆☆ This is a good place to try Korean BBQ. The restaurant mostly comprises of tables or booths with seating for 4 and then there are some table available for larger groups. The food is cooked at your table on a small round grill centrally located and the grills are changed every time new meats are ordered. The waiters help you cook the food, if you are new to the process the staff will gladly inspect the grill every now and then to ensure that everything is being done right.
The waiters ensured that all the meat was Halal and the menus that were brought to us clearly read on the top that "all meats are Zabihah Halal".
I would recommend the Bulgogi, Spicy Chadol (which is a marinated brisket), Marinated Beef Short Rib, Garlic or Cajun Chicken and Spicy marinated Squid. There are a few salads, Kimchi and other condiments that get refilled promptly.
Prices are about $17 for AYCE lunches and $25 for dinner before taxes. In my party of 4, without having ordered any dessert or soft drinks etc. the bill with tip was a little over $130. So it is kind of expensive for frequent visits. I have yet to try their regular menu or soups. Hopefully they are equally good.
I am updating my review in 2021. After having visited this place 6 or 7 times now I unfortunately have to reduce my ranking from 4 stars to 2 stars. And all of this due to poor service. The servers here are extremely rude. They talk back to you in angry tones in Korean whenever they feel like it, probably cussing you out. Food quality diminishes with every serving. There will be less edible pieces of meat in each subsequent serving. Meat will be chewy and low quality the more times you order that item. I have myself and other friends and family have observed this slow decline in service over the past two years. They had a good thing going but now I won't recommend this location.
They have another location in Tustin, but I have personally not tried it out. Heard that their service and food is much better. Posted on September 21, 2021 |

★★★★★ I Can Barbecue is a 5 star restaurant. Me and my family love this halal-certified all you can eat Korean Barbecue! Tastes great and fair price.
Service is friendly. Their staff clean tables, changes grills quickly! They have a separate Halal menu and also another regular menu where they serve pork too. They clean and sanitize each grill and table religiously after every customer. It doesn’t matter if they serve alcoholic drinks or pork as long as you dont share your meal and utensils with those people :) so that is not even an issue! I have been at I Can Barbecue for more than 10 times so far. They’re really careful with their cleanliness, service! No doubt! Can’t wait to go back again! Posted on March 27, 2020 |

★★★★★ We ate at this place recently. There is a zabihah menu and a non halal menu. The non halal menu includes pork and they serve alcohol. They change the grills frequently. You order from the menu and they bring the meats to the table. It is a bit expensive for frequent visits, but good experience for special occasions. Service is good. Restrooms are clean. All in all very good experience. Posted on April 17, 2019 |

Best I have had in the United States.
So nice to have a halal option. Great service, delicious high quality food, and good attention to detail.
Highly recommended. Posted on January 23, 2019 |

★★★★★ I 've long dreamed about a halal Korean BBQ place, and it has arrived. It's a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to anyone. Realistically, it's not a place I would go to often. It's expensive -- about $27 a person for dinner, and while the experience is worth it, there are other places I'd prefer if I had to judge on taste alone.
It's all you can eat; they bring out a menu, you ask for various meats; they bring you the meats; and you grill them on a clean grill integrated into your table. Really cool.
The food is good, but it's nothing I think I'll ever really crave. I think really the experience is what makes this great. It's a place I would absolutely take out-of-towners or people who have never tried halal Korean bbq.
Also, just as an FYI, you have to specifically ask for the Halal menu. But for anyone who's never been, I definitely recommend it! Posted on April 11, 2018 |
