★★★★☆ Ambiance: Sitting area is very small, not really meant for large parties or family. If that is the case, better to pick up the food rather than eat in. Its a chill area, meant for quick eat and ago.
Food:
They have a mean Steak N Cheese, its definitely worth the money. I've tried other items on the menu, but I always come back for the Steak N Cheese. Definitely worth trying if you've never had it.
Prices:
They are basically aligned with the typical halal prices. Halal prices are typically going to be more expensive than non-halal places, that should be expected at this point.
Overall:
Its a chill spot, I normally bring people that are visiting NOVA here, because like I said, Steak N Cheese is no joke. Posted on April 23, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ Burger was over priced for what it was. The wings were not too bad but generally the portions are not that generous and it is quite pricey for what you get. Posted on April 21, 2018 |

★★★★☆ I really like this place. The pizza size was good and it was very well done. The cheeseburger was very good. I wish the sterling one was still open! Posted on August 12, 2014 |

★★★★☆ If you like fast food, it's the place to go. Their wings are so good! Prices are a bit much for what they give, but still really tasty! Posted on July 2, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ Let me start off by saying that I'm a regular customer at Spice Town for a 2 years now. I loved their pizza's and always suggested that we order from there... until my last encounter. I've always liked their pizza's because they offered Halal toppings, such as Turkey Bacon and Pepperoni. Although their delivery service would usually take over an hour to get to my house, I still ordered from there but choose to pick it up myself, although I live 15 minutes away.
Ordered three pie's last night, the toppings on the vegetable were a joke, I mean, really a joke. Wish I had taken a picture of it. But whatever, that wasn't a big deal. Until I discovered that they've given me the wrong pizza. I had ordered a Pepperoni pizza, but instead received Chicken. I called them up to tell them I had the wrong pizza. I did not intend to get a refund to return the pizza, and I live 15 minutes away, and wasn't going to ask them to deliver it because it wasn't THAT big of a deal.
When I called them, and talked to the Manager, or owner or whoever the heck it was, I POLITELY made them aware of the mistake. His response was truly unbelievable. He said the following, "After you placed your order we realized we didn't have pepperoni, I didn't want to call you back and I thought Chicken would be okay."
Now, if he had called me in advanced and told me that they ran out of pepperoni, it would have been fine, no problem. If he had told me when I was standing face to face with him as I was picking up the pizza that they didn't have pepperoni and substituted chicken instead, it would have been okay too, and would have taken it because I had hungry kids at home.
However, he never mentioned it. So after he told me that over the phone that he decided to substitute chicken instead of pepperoni without even telling me, I was a little upset. I asked him why he didn't tell me this earlier. And his response was even more ridiculous then the last.
He said, "You should be happy I gave you chicken, because it costs me."
If I wanted chicken, I would have ordered it. Who are you to tell me that I should be happy about something I didn't order? That was seriously such a bad experience that I will NEVER order from them again. We used to order from them from time to time for our office pizza party. Never again. He never once apologized for the mix up. If he had just said i'm sorry, it was my fault, i'll make it right the next time, I would have been satisfied. He kept repeating over and over again that I should be happy.
I'm not happy. I told him i'll be giving him bad reviews, he said "he wasn't scared."
I'm really disappointed at how they handled this situation. Really sad. I guess I'll be going to a different place from now on. Their loss.
If you order from there, make sure they are
1.) not over charging you, there is always $2-3 dollars over charge, but that never stopped me from ordering there before.
2) make sure you get your RIGHT order and
3) make sure the toppings on the pizza are not merely sprinkled on. Get what you pay for.
Good luck Posted on December 27, 2013 |
We are really sorry for your bad experience and apologize for the service you received that day.As far as the charges are concerned, we never overcharge. whatever prices we have in the menu we charge that, and of course there is sales tax and town of Herndon meals tax that we have to charge but some customers do not understand this,as they live in Sterling or Reston area. But since we are located in herndon we have to charge those meals taxes and pass it over to Town of Herndon. We would love to get you back as a regular. as you mentioned in your post, that you were a regular. If there is anything we can do to make it right please email at spicetown@verizon.net or inbox us at our facebook page. I assure you we will take care of you.
Thank you

NR Not sure if fully halal or not! They sell ham and bacon etc. plus they dont have a HALAL certification. Confused!! 😐 Posted on August 2, 2013 |
Alhamdolillah we are 100% Halal. Bacon Ham and Pepperoni everything is 100% Zabihah Halal. We assure you |

NR Ok now, thats confusing 'coz I walked in to the sterling store and I was told their menu is 100% halal, but spice town notes on zabihah reviews say they serve both. Am confused????? 100% or partial halal menu Posted on February 18, 2012 |

★★★★★ I eat here at Herndon location almost every day now. First time I tried the steak & cheese sub here. I was surprised for such an excellent sub. I lived in philly for 3 years but could never try phily steak there, since there is no halal steak in philadelphia. There wings are awsome. There Napolitan calzone is also vey good. its a small place but they keep it clean, not like regular desi restaurants. overall a nice place to grab lunch Posted on June 2, 2011 |

★★★★★ I called this place for delivery and I was really satisfied. I had their steak and cheese sandwich which was cooked and delicious. It also came with a bag of chips and pickle. I ordered 2 since there was a minimum delivery order of $15, but it was definitely worth it. The service on the phone as well by the delivery person was excellent. They also verified over the phone that all the meat is Zabihah except 2 specific beef items. I hope to drop by their Sterling location as well. Posted on January 20, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ You have to ask for halal -- if you're a strict Hanafi, beware that they don't carry hand-cut halal chicken, it is machine-cut supplied by Washington Lamb. The Taco pizza and wings are awesome but the sandwiches are EXTREMELY overpriced, no joke. Posted on November 28, 2010 |
We assure our customers that our chicken is Zabihah Halal.
I don't know any place here in USA where you can go and get your chicken cut in front of your eyes. We get halal chicken from our meat supplier, and they are one of the biggest halal supplier in Northern Virginia |

★☆☆☆☆ The food here is great but the phone answering is really rude some spanish guy keeps and keeps asking for address. I think not everyone has time to spell the whole address i understand if they dont understand what we say we can spell it ones but not repeat and repeat it. So i thought how about i should make a carryout they wont ask me for my address. So when i went inside, the first impression was bad because the tables were dirty. When I went to the Bathroom there is a weird smell, when you walk from the middle of that small hall. The Bathroom was clean. But when i saw the oil and the grease on the grill i thought i will never go back to this restaurant. I dont know what the problem is with the Herndon Location the Sterling location is nice, clean, and smells fresh. I have to give this restaurant a bad rating. Posted on October 19, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ The owner keeps responding to questions saying that they serve halal and haram meats. But they never respond to questions about how the grill, preparation areas, gloves of employees etc. are made tahir from the najasa of the haram meats. Again, if there is cross contamination between the haram and halal meats, the halal meat is rendered haram. Posted on June 16, 2010 |
We serve almost 90% of our menu halal. We do carry regular steaks for our American customers. We do not serve any pork.We do have halal steaks. All of our chicken and ground beef is halal. Our bacon is halal beef bacon. We serve halal turkey ham. Our chefs are very well trained and know the difference in halal and regular steaks. Brother this is USA its not a muslim country, I think this effort to provide halal American food should be appreciated and not criticised. Thank you Spice Town Management |

★☆☆☆☆ There appears to be some confusion as to what is and what is not zabihah halal on the menu. For this very reason, the decision to go there for me is less desirable. The food is good, however now that I know not everything is halal, I will reconsider going there. Not sure why a restaurant that carries halal steaks, would also carry regular (non-halal) steaks as well. What if the two types of steaks touch, or worse, if they get mingled and the cook can't tell which one is which and serves halal eaters the wrong type? If you want Halal steaks, go to a zabihah butcher, get a cut of some nice rib eye and cook it at home. Posted on June 10, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ I will not go here again! When I went to the restaurant the the Pakistani owner told me all their meat was halal, but when I called the man who answered told me otherwise. Posted on June 8, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ I have to give this restaurant a bad review. The only reason I am doing this, is because when I spoke to the owner of the Herndon, VA Spice Town he informed me that all of their meat was halal. When I spoke to an actual worker at the restaurant, they told me that they carry both kinds (Halal and non-halal meats) and that they cook both on the same grill. Therefore, the meat they serve you (if it has been cooked) has been cooked on the same grill as the non-halal meat and is not halal anymore. Posted on August 5, 2009 |
I as a owner of Spice town just wanted to clarify that all of our chicken is halal. we carry both halal and regular steaks, beef peproni and beef sausage, from Midamar. All of our menu items you can get in halal. Thats why we say that almost the whole menu is halal. We do not serve any pork. We serve halal turkey ham from Deen, and halal beef bacon. We are trying our best to serve the most of halal American Food. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to call us
Thank you

★★★★★ I ate there first time. Their food is very fresh and they make everything to order.Good thing is you can watch your food being cooked right in front of your eyes. Pizza is simply the best. The Manager told me that they are converting to completely Halal menu Posted on May 16, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ The food is ok, not too great. They've overcharged my account few times once I checked my statement. So, whenever I order, I check my account to verify the information. Overall, the food is ok, it has deteriorated w/its quality over the years. Posted on May 14, 2009 |

★★★★★ wings are solid...their tandoori chicken pizza is good too...but their chicken fajita pizza is really good!!!... Posted on January 8, 2009 |

|
★★☆☆☆ The wings here were good, however the pizza which they claim to be the best in town is by far not the best. They're pricing policy for the pizza is dishonest. I will not be going back there again i prefer to buy from an honest non muslim establishment than a dishonest establishment. Posted on December 18, 2008 |

★★★★★ One of the best Pizza I ever ate. Their wings are perfect. I lived in Buffalo for 10 years. Believe me their wings really taste the same like from buffalo.
Service is fine too. Over all I give them a 5 stars review. Posted on December 12, 2008 |

NR Spice Town is an American Restaurant serving both Americans and Muslim Community. Alhamdolillah the owners are muslim and they don't hide anything. We do serve both Halal and regular meat.Thats why we mentioned on our menu " Halal Available". We never claimed to be Halal only Restaurant. But when it comes to Halal customers. We always serve Halal and take xtra care serving Halal food. We do not use any non halal food in our fryers. Providing Halal American food is a tough job and we are trying our best to serve the muslim community. Posted on November 16, 2008 |

★★★☆☆ Being a "known Muslim" doesnt mean anything! Their food is not Zabihah. Some items may be, but the man I spoke to on the phone said otherwise. This website and this restaurant need to be clear. This place is as halaal as McDonalds (which I verified with the person on the phone). It serves ham, sausage, pepperoni etc. You can check their menu online at restaurant.com or pick one up in person and see for yourself. Its sad because they say "halaal available" on their menu and the local masjid uses them frequently. I am sad for the people that play on semantics and use halaal/zabihah interchangeably. I am sad for their fate on the last day for misleading believers. I was going to use this place for a big (informal) family dinner, not any more. Posted on November 1, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ I wouldn't say it is cheap, $7 plus for 10 wings, $1.70 per vegi topping pizza $4 for each meat topping. Food is ok but watch out for total amount they charge you. Although prices are already high, he charges more than prices listed on menu. I ordered xl chicken pizza with two vegi topping paid $23 plus change. Picked up menu on way out, price for chicken vegi 16.99 plus tax. Same type of story couple other times. Too bad only halal pizza in the area. Herndon location! Posted on April 15, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I tried their food recently. BTW they sell ham/pepperoni etc. Also the fried chicken is not halal although chicken strips and popcorn chicken is halal. I tried their tacos....not that great. I really like their chicken wings though...the blue cheese sauce is out of this world. Posted on March 27, 2008 |

★★★★★ Spice town is a great restaurant that has a variety of foods all of which seem to be great. I have not had it all but from what ive eaten in the subs, wings, and pizza's they're all great and come at a great price aswell. They have two convenient locations, one in herndon and the other in ashburn, both of which offer delivery service. I really enjoy the food each and everytime and recomend that everyone looking for hala food give it a try. Posted on December 29, 2007 |
