★★★★★ the pizza here was so good that half of it was eaten before i even reached home :) Posted on November 13, 2014 |

★★★★★ We came here while visiting Hamilton from Los Angeles. We have eaten at plenty of halal
Mediterranean restaurants in LA, but we have never eaten schawarmas this good! The service was fast. I'm not sure why the other reviewers said they were slow. We came at 8pm on a Friday night. We also loved the Philly cheese steak sandwich! I wish LA had such a place - clean, good price, and good food. I highly recommend. Posted on November 23, 2012 |

★★★★★ The owner of this restaurant is a professionally schooled chef and it shows when he is there. His staff are well trained but when Mamdouh is there, the food is out of this world. Try the BBQ Chicken Pizza and wings. The Chicken Cutlet sandwich is also great. Everything is is good really. Service is slow, but the food is worth the wait. Posted on September 16, 2012 |

★★★★☆ I go to Basilique as often as I can, the food is absolutely delicious. The staff has always been friendly in my experience, although service can sometimes be slow. Posted on January 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ We love Basilique! The food is great (especially the pizza and wings!). We love the Coq Au Vin pizza (jalepeno, mushrooms & onions). This is our favourite halal place in Hamilton. Posted on April 6, 2010 |

★★★★★ The service may be a bit on the slow side, but the amazing food more than makes up for it. It is halal, as mentioned before the 'bacon' etc is actually chicken :) if your in hamilton this place is def. worth checking out Posted on December 25, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ The worst service ever. From the owner down to all the employees no one there has any idea how to deliver good service. They are rude, inattentive leading to many order screw ups and always slow in getting out your food (if you request delivery be prep for a 1 hour wait). Avoid this place if you can, and if you're a Mac student -- go to Ghazi's! Posted on October 28, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Needs a crash course in customer service and politeness. Pretty rude people. And very slow service. But the food is pretty good. Check out the extra-hot chicken wings! Posted on April 18, 2005 |

★★★★★ Aslamo alaikom everyone,

The bacon they have or peperoni is actually halal meat ! He tells people that but its actually halal meat and i eat it there all the time. I know the guy personally. The food and meats are all halal bacon and pepornni are just blackened chicken or some kind of salami. Its all halal. Posted on December 19, 2004 |

★★★★★ Mamdouh's is fully halal. So what if he has 'bacon' on his menu...then dont go to the variety store because the muslim guy who probably owns that place sells dirty magazines. gimme a break...mamdouh's rocks...try their chicken cutlass...it's AMAZING! Posted on December 17, 2004 |

★★★★☆ I've eaten there on one occasion and found the pizza to be 'above average'. I was not aware of the 'bacon topping'. I would not be surprise if this is true. Some Muslim establishments try to please everyone by sticking a 'halal' sign in the window and at the same time try to cater to the occasional non-muslim who wants ham/pork/bacon with their meal. There are places where one can get beer with their halal dish. This revolting mix of 'halal' and haram is an outward manifestation of the owners doubts and fears with regard to his/her religion. ★★★★☆ Mamdouh Rocks! The pizza's not the best but do try the colzones. Great wings too! If you're into beef, go for the philly steak sub...really good! Posted on August 2, 2004 |

|
★★★★☆ I wonder why they have "bacon" toppings in their menu if they claim that their food is halal as it is operated by Muslims? Posted on April 12, 2003 |

★★★★☆ Serves both Western & Middle Eastern sandwiches, as well as all kinds of Pizza. Posted on March 27, 2003 |

★★★★★ "Salams. Very tasty, delicious food. GOtta try lasagnia and chicken wings. Ummmmmmazing. Especially the lasagna and chicken wings. Wings in hot sauce, honey and garlic sauce, ... .ummmmmazing! Gotta try the chicken lasagna, and the chicken wings. Try them for yo self! If you're every going to hamilton, Mamdouh's the place to be. Caters McMaster Muslim Student community." ★★★★★ "Mamdouh has changed the design of his store and overhauled his menu and has become one of the premiere fully-halal eating emporiums in North America. Having been to many restaurants throughout the continent, Mamdouh the Chef and owner still makes the best feel good, home style, best tasting food around. The BBQ Mixed Meat pizza is a classic, and there's a large variety of other food available for every taste on the flavour spectrum." Posted on December 4, 2002 |

★★★★★ "Bismillah. Excellent food. Very close to McMaster University. Being a former McMaster student I have eaten here many times. Tried everything from lasagna, chicken cutlet sub, chicken strips w/fries, bbq chicken pizza, chicken wings (bbq, hot), chicken wrap, philly steak sub, falafel, shawarma, etc. Everything here is excellent ESPECIALLY the BBQ chicken pizza. Masha'Allah Br. Mumdouh is a gifted chef and has catered MSA-McMaster gatherings as well to much pleasure of the students. Try this place and you won't regret it!" Posted on June 11, 2002 |

★★★☆☆ Although claim to be Halal, they have "bacon" toppings in their menu. That has made me stay away from the restaurant since i last ate at the place a year ago. Posted on November 10, 2001 |

★★★★★ This resturant is owned and operated by muslims, and all the food is halal as they say. Posted on April 28, 2001 |
