★☆☆☆☆ Went after such a long time and everything was changed, the food quality drop down to 1/10. And service was horrible, few years ago it was my favorite restaurant. I ordered lamb kabob , chicken and beef kabobs, and it was the worst lamb kabob in my life. Food came after one hour, I told manager but he was not ready to listen anything , worst experience never ever going back to this place again . Shame on restaurant manager and owner . Please close the restaurant and open a food cart because u guys does not know how to run a business . Worst food and service Posted on October 13, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ Went there around March of this year and it's under new management. The waitress confirmed it's no longer halal. The menu has changed too - it's middle eastern food now. Had to go with the Fish kebob. Wasn't bad. Posted on July 16, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I have come here for many years and won't be back again. The food quantity has shrunk and the prices have gone up. Every platter is now almost half of what it used to be. Sorry but better, tastier and cheaper options nearby in Bakhtar and Aria Kabab. Posted on June 28, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ I am sorry but I will never go here again. They have raised the prices a lot! Food was always good, but last time I went they really raised the prices. Well there's another place not too far from there, I'll be going there from now on...food just as good, and much cheaper. Posted on May 12, 2013 |

★★★★★ I have been going to this place for the past 4 years. I love the food here. It's very delicious. I recently had my wedding function here. The accomodation made for me was superb. They allowed me to come in early to decorate it to my liking. The food was absolutely yummy.
The wait staff was very friendly and very attentive. The service was great. Everyone at the wedding was very happy with this place. They loved everything from the decor, to the waitstaff and service. They even allow you to use an in-house dj music station.
My favorites are there boneless lamb kebab. It's amazing. I have also tried their American food and it is simply great. The prices are very good and the portion of food is very large (you can't ever finish it all). And the complimentary green tea is simply delicious and I am not a tea person.
I have been to many mediterranean places but nothing compares to Alibaba. I recommend you try this place atleast once and I promise you will continue to come back. Posted on October 6, 2011 |

★★★★☆ We always go to Ali Baba when visiting NY. The Afghan food is among the best. I particularly love the lamb chops and chupaan kabab. The decor is nice and you can go with your entire family. Even though it is not Afghan food, but you have to try the chicken wings. They are out of this world. Posted on July 20, 2010 |

★★★★☆ Went there with my cousins and family.. There was some party going on at the weekend so we thought we'll not get enough place or Service from the staff but they took good care and handled everything good. The place was neat, calm with good Arabic environment with some small waterfalls and fountains. Waiter was really kind and helpful. You can expect any free to try dish too ;)
Both service and Food were good. The only thing bugged me was Parking place as its on a Expressway, so we had to park a block away from it, doesnt matter though. All in all a good experience. Will surely go and have my wings and other stuff Again!!! Posted on January 27, 2009 |

★★★☆☆ It's a clean place and very calm with those fountains.
The Borani was too oily and I could not eat it.
The chicken kabob is okay but dry, and the rice was too greasy.
If you're in the neighborhood it's good to try, but don't go out of your way to make a special trip to this place.
They need to improve the taste of their food and use less oil an ghee. Posted on December 24, 2008 |

★★★★☆ I've been here a couple times and I've enjoyed the food. The best part of this restaurant is probably the decor and ambience. The lights and indoor fountains makes it a pleasurable place to have a meal. The service can be a bit slow, especially when they're busy, but overall it's a good place to visit occasionally. ★★☆☆☆ I was looking forward to eating in this restaurant after hearing good things about it, but when I got there, I found out the 2 items I wanted, Aushak and Manto, which are both listed on the menu were unavailable. When I questioned the manager about this, he gave he a story about those items needing special ingredients (scallions!)and hence, not in stock. There is nothing exotic about making these items. I was told if I wanted that to call 2 days in advance! Next time I will go to a closer restaurant that has what I want. Posted on February 10, 2008 |

★★★★☆ Ali Baba is not a new establishment and I've gone to this restaurant many times over the past few years. The restaurant has grown during this time both in size and price. The decor now, especially in the fancy dining area is stunning with indoor water fountains and falls. Doesn't feel at all like you are a stone's throw away from the LIE. The menu has improved over the years. The white sauce has always been decent and remains pleasantly tarty. The buffalo wings are small in size but huge on size and arguably among the best in NY. The rice and salad and meat are standard afghani fair albeit priced a few dollars more. I have not had the 'american fast food' in a while but from memory it wasn't anything extraordinary. Bottom line: decent but expensive food with a great ambience Posted on January 21, 2008 |

★☆☆☆☆ I went to an iftari party there last weekend for over a 100 people and had such a horrible experience. The food severed was cold and lacking of any flavor whatsoever. There seemed to be a sense of urgency on behalf of the waiters to quickly serve the food and get the people out of the restaurant as soon as possible. By far this was the worst experience I have ever had coming to this restaurant and plan on never coming back. I would be captious about booking parties at this restaurant in the near future. ★☆☆☆☆ Salaam. i was responsible for planning my sis' bday and decided to try out Ali Baba's. complete disaster. food was terrible, but service was worse. we found hair in the bread and when we informed the waitress, she proceeded to tell us how she had found the same previously! talk about tactless. also, the servers were very rude and always spoke privately in Spanish with one another. BUT here's an UPDATE! i was driving by and saw a sign stating "under new management" so maybe it's worth a try. good luck and plz post feedback. Posted on December 18, 2006 |

★☆☆☆☆ The food is over priced and not worth it at all. My Husband and I came here with my family and all of us didn't like it. Needless to say, we're never going back. Posted on December 8, 2006 |

★★★★☆ Ali Baba's is good restaurant, I liked their food, not too oily and spicey unlike indian/pakistani food. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants some good arab food. Posted on April 1, 2006 |

★★★★☆ AA
This is a very good resturant that i used to go to often when i lived in Queens. The Afghani rice is incredeble and they have cheeseburgers, chicken sandwitches, and fast food items. 2nd best cheeseburgers only to gullys in ATL,GA. Mainly a fancy sit down resturaunt though. HIgh priced and bad service. GREAT HALAL FOOD! Posted on December 26, 2005 |

★★★★☆ I used to go to ali baba all the time when i lived in nyc. their afgan rice dishes are one of the best i have ever had. Only Gully s burger delight in atlanta makes better halal chessesburgers than alibaba. very expensive though. Pretty good Posted on July 6, 2005 |

★☆☆☆☆ First of all, this is the most biased place you can go to. This arab waiter kept waiting on his countrymen while me and my friend had to wait for more than an hour to get served. The management is totally careless and when I say careless I mean they don't care about their service. The food isn't worth half of what we paid and they didn't even have a functional restroom. What these people don't understand is that the core of food business is service. Even if the food is lousy good service will make you appreciate it. Never goign back and never recommending this place. Who ever gave this place a good review either spent a few hundered dollars and hence recieved good service or knows the owner personally. Nobody I know had a good experiance with this place. Posted on June 3, 2005 |

★☆☆☆☆ The food is not good and the service is worse. The bread had a rubber piece in it that hurt my tooth. We had to wait a long time for the food, then when the main dish came, it was garnished with a hair. They took it back and while the rest of the party had food, I had to wait an additional 30 mins for my dish. The coke was watered down and the manager was not the least bit accomodating. I have gone here once before and they had forgot to make my sister's order and so when we all had food she had to wait for them to make hers. I will definitely not go back here again. ★★★★★ I always get the same thing: boneless lamb kebab + qabli rice (w/ carrots and raisins). The food is always the same: AMAZING. I usually get the same waiter, a very polite man, originally from Honduras. They have a big screen TV there which always has a game on. What else would someone want? Great food and sports on a big screen. Posted on May 24, 2004 |
