Chinese Mirch |
|
140 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA 01702
Indo-Chinese restaurant. Most of the items on the menu are halal except for the duck. There is no pork on the menu. Loosely translated in Hindi, Chinese Mirch suggests spicy Chinese food. Centuries-old in the Indian subcontinent, this cooking technique infuses Indian herbs and spices into a blend of Cantonese, Hakka and Szechuan style cooking. The result is an explosion of flavor, sometimes bold and fiery, but always a delight to the senses. In a restaurant landscape populated with a dizzying array of choices, Chinese Mirch makes a singular statement. Added on December 14, 2010 and last updated 6 years ago

★★★★★ What makes this place interesting is the Indo-Chinese fusion of the food. I was introduced to this place when I first came to Boston by a friend and definitely like the place. It's a fine dining place. The waitress/waiters are always good and attentive. They are also good at explaining the menu to us. The first time we went, we ordered Orange Chicken and has since come back for the same dish. We have also tried the Biryani, Chicken Mirch 65, fish, but I would say Orange Chicken is the best! It tasted the right amount of sour and sweetness. The mango lassi was great too! But if they could make it larger for the price we pay, that would be awesome. This is a place I would highly recommend! Posted on August 24, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ This is an Indo-Chinese restaurant serving authentic fusion cuisine. Note the food is Indian-Chinese fusion. Not Chinese. The restaurant is full-service. The understanding is that the entire menu is halal, except the duck. Parking is available behind the building, though it gets full during peak times, so leave the R32 Skyline GT-R at home.
This reviewer has been to this restaurant several times. The food is generally good to excellent. Favorites include crispy okra, mirch 65, and hakka noodles. This reviewer is still contemplating trying the masala Coke and approaches it with a mix of curiosity and revulsion.
The restaurant is pricier than most one-star Chinese or Indian restaurants, yes, but $14 for an entree is not unreasonable. Overall, expect to pay $20-25 per person.
Some of the imbecilic critical reviews (americandesi, mohammedzaman, sowais) seem to have missed that this is not a Chinese restaurant and so does not serve "authentic" Chinese food. You have to wonder at the competence of reviewers who don't know the cuisine they are eating and then go complain about how it's not the cuisine they thought it was supposed to be. I imagine these are the same people that go to Victoria's Secret, then go home and write a one-star review because the store didn't carry the blender they were looking for. What's with the whining about prices?--you voluntarily walked into the restaurant, the prices were posted on the menu, you voluntarily ordered... how is this a "rip off"? Were you forced to order at knifepoint? Did the prices increase while you were eating? Go ahead and dock a star for value and note that in your review. But acting like you got stiffed makes you look like a fool who doesn't know what those numbers on the menu mean. Posted on March 13, 2014 |

★★★★☆ One star off for serving alcohol.
But the food, atmosphere, service, everything is just perfect.

★★★★★ Really nice atmosphere, was a "nice" restaurant to go to. Pretty tasty chinese, kids loved it. Noodles were really good, fried rice was really good, kids meals were cute. Chili chicken and chicken fried rice were really good. Some of the other dishes, wasn't that thrilled about. White rice was not really sticky rice, it was desi white rice. Good time though. Parking in the back sucked though. Posted on December 31, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I have been here a few times. Food is okay, as long as you know what you are ordering. Fusion food is not everyone's cup of team. I think the appetizers were good but I had 50/50 experience with main course. Its a nice place to eat with family and service was good. Since I have tried various dishes, I would definitely come back again. Posted on August 25, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ This place is kind of rip off. Although the ambiance is customer service are better than typical desi restaurant however the price and quantity for Chinese food is outrages. Not to mention any curry dish (although minimum 13$) does not come with rice. For 2$ you get a tiny bowl of steam rice, ha! The taste of the four items we order were not good either. Atleast I would not go there again! Posted on May 14, 2012 |

★★★★★ Mindblasting! Best Indian Chinese I've ever had! You must get the fried okra and fried cauliflower for appetizers along with Szechuan bhel! The chop suey was crunchy and packs a punch. Masala coke added the right fizz to the spicy and flavorful meal.
Original recipes. Creative presentation. Sincerely spicy!
Don't miss this Mirch experience! Posted on March 10, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I don't understand why we have to pay higher price for food that is not qualified enough. Besides, quantity is ridiculous. If you serve Chinese food make it right with proper proportion please.
Also, please put less salt.. Posted on January 27, 2012 |

★★★★★ Very nice atmosphere. Not too big, so gets crowded quickly. I made reservations for our large party, so it wasnt a big deal, but without reservations on a Sunday night might result in a long wait. I did not understand the logic behind not seating us till the entire party had arrived, but that was ok.
The food itself was very good. With 9 people we ordered 9 entrees, and that was a lot of food. The portion size is generous.
The food is halal, except the duck as pointed above and 'chicken nuggets' on the kids menu, There are no pork dishes on the menu, so that made us feel even more relaxed. Also, they dont use chicken/meat broth for vegetarian dishes. This didnt affect us, but good to know they take the dietary restrictions seriously.
We ordered, Lychee juice, it was amazing, so was the Kappi Vanilla. Chicken msnchurian, mirch 65 and tellicheri chicken were nice and spicy. Momos were the on lt thing that were a bit off and that too because they let them sit in the kithen before bringing it out.
Overall great place and cant wait to go there again to try their desserts. Reasonable cost at about 23 $ per person. Posted on May 30, 2011 |
