Founded in 1972, Popeyes has more than 40 years of history and culinary tradition. Popeyes culinary heritage is built upon the rich Cajun and creole flavor profiles that are unmistakably Louisiana. We continuously draw upon and celebrate this heritage to inspire new, authentic menu creations the world craves. Popeyes distinguishes itself with a unique New Orleans style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp and other regional items. This unique and flavorful food has allowed Popeyes to become one of the world's largest chicken quick service restaurants, with more than 2,700 restaurants in North America and around the world. The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. All Popeyes restaurants in Ontario, Canada serve Halal products, though as of 2011, the chain has shifted from a certified hand-slaughtered supplier to a certified machine-slaughtered one, as confirmed by Popeye's corporate headquarters. Restaurants confirm that everything is halal and that all ingredients are different to their US stores (i.e., all gravy and sauces are halal).

★★☆☆☆ I ordered a combination meal for my family. There was a feather still in the chicken and when I brought it to the managers attention in a discreet manner he took great offense and treated me very rudely. I will never eat here again. Posted on October 29, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I am not sure if the sides and some of the main dishes are totally Halal. They use a Bacon, Pork & Ham in their sauces, gravy and green beans. Just go to their corporate website and check for yourslef. What I am not sure about is the stuff that they serve in these Canadian Halal outlets is specailly made to avoid these ingredients or not ... knowing from experience with corporate America ... probably not!!
Check: http://www.popeyes.com/ingredients.pdf
for a list of Haram ingredients yourslef. Posted on July 26, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ i went with my family to this restaurant to dine in. The chicken had feathers in it and there was a dry bone in the chicken container. When I tried to bring it upto the manager in a discreet manner he started yelling. I left without a refund that he would not give even though the food was barely eaten. Posted on January 18, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ Something you should know. I know someone who works for Popeye's (not in the resturant, but in setting up resturants). They state that although the chicken is halal, the fat used to fry is beef fat, and the mince in the rice is pork. Don't believe me, just ask the staff / manager. Won't be going there agin myself Posted on October 16, 2004 |

★★★★☆ The food is good. At last a good fried chicken shop. I would recomend biscuit, bean and rice and mashed potato with gravy. Chicken is oily but if you remove the skin then it is not bad Posted on July 23, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Biscuits are great!! French Fries are tasty! In the past, the biscuits used to be big and the French Fries used to be long. But still great taste. Yummy!:) Some locations the biscuits are not always ready for you. you have to wait long. :) Posted on March 12, 2004 |

★★★★☆ "It is really tasty food, affordable for families. Especially if you go in on Tuesdays when they have 2oonie Tuesday specials. You're served two pieces of chicken with either small fries or biscuits. You have a choice of spicy or mild chicken." Posted on February 14, 2001 |
