★☆☆☆☆ NO to Khyberpass. Their meat is not Halal. They keep a box of halal chicken in their fridge so if someone asks them, they will show you that box. The rest of their meat comes from non halal resources. Have you ever wondered why they don't put a Halal sign on their restaurant? Yes it is because you won't be able to sue them if you dig in and find out about the meat source.
I say NO to this place and everyone should double check with them before spending your money on non halal meat. And they are one of the most expensive so called Halal restaurants in Dublin. I just wish they were Halal Posted on February 26, 2018 |

★☆☆☆☆ Too expensive, bolani is not testy and it is not the size it supposed to be and they charge too much for it .
Don't try to order Catering they will miss up your order or they don't even remember that you ordered with them . The owner needs to know that people's money doesn't grow on the tree , people works too hard it , please don't charge people whatever you want . Posted on February 14, 2015 |

★★★★☆ I went there for a quick dinner and ordered Mantoo and Chapli Kabab. Mantoo was exceptionally well and Chapli Kabab was good enough. Service was fast and place was very clean. Posted on February 9, 2015 |

★★★★★ Marvelous food all the way around. Best Afghan food outside of Fremont. Posted on December 10, 2014 |

★☆☆☆☆ Khyber Pass used to be THE go-to Afghani place for my family pretty much since they opened. Unfortunately, a friend and I came to understand (first hand) that they use a non-zabihah ingredient as part of the marinade for their chicken. If you are concerned with consuming only zabihah products, I would advise you to steer clear of the chicken. As for me and my family, we have stopped frequenting this restaurant entirely :- ( Posted on September 18, 2014 |

★★★★★ Probably the best Afghan food I have had in USA. We ordered Kabuli Pulao, Chapli Kebab, Chicken Kebab and Manto. It was a weekday but the place was packed and we had to wait a while to be seated. We found the service to be good and efficient but they did have multiple servers that day. The owner came out twice to our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Ladies in our group were wearing hijab but we did not feel the vibe expressed by others. ★☆☆☆☆ I would agree with a previous reviewer. We just are there yesterday, and while the waitress was nice, she and the management/owners (who were taking personal phone calls in the restaurant) were very personable with all the non-Muslims and less conservative folk (I wear hijab) that were eating at the restaurant or picking up their food. The chapli kabab was way too spicy, even for us desis and I have an allergy that I clearly communicated and I still had a reaction afterwards.
Another thing that threw us off, was the waitress asked my husband if he was okay with the beef. We later wondered if she asked because only the chicken was halal and that's why she was asking if beef was okay for him.
Would not go there again even if I was in the area, but if you do and the waitress asks you if beef is okay for you, ask her why she is asking you that... Posted on June 14, 2014 |

★★★★★ Probably the best Afghani food i have eaten. I ordered the Kabuli Pulao, Chapli Kabab and Manto. Kabuli Pulao was probably the best I have eaten. The other two were really delicious as well. Service initially was a bit slow since it was just one person serving the whole restaurant, which was nearly full. Posted on May 27, 2014 |

★★☆☆☆ Went here recently based on all the great reviews while on vacation with my wife and daughter. Let me preface this by saying that my experiences may not be representative of most peoples experiences as they had a large group (something like 20 or so people) that were eating at the same time.
Overall, my experience was subpar. My wife and I had to sit on the upper platform on the floor which was not the most comfortable, and the waiter who came to take our orders was far less personable with us than he was with other tables around us. I think we were the only Muslim couple in the restaurant at the time, and I have to be honest and say I felt like they received a type of priority treatment over my wife and I in terms of overall service.
The food itself was decent. The meat was excellent, I have to be fair, but the rest of the meal was just okay - some of the bread was hard and it was not hot (I dont think they make their own bread), the eggplant dish was not that tasty (and I tend to love afghan eggplant dishes).
For me, a very 3-star restaurant experience and I wouldnt recommend for out of towners looking for a nice night of dinner with the family. Posted on February 7, 2014 |

★★★★★ Absolutely the best Afghani food I have had. The chicken kabob was really well seasoned and very tender. The rice was very, very good. The salad was out of this world. The owner Mrs Sultana and the other lady working there were very courteous and so accomodating. They really made sure all the customers were well taken care of. I noticed that alot of people who came in to eat while I was there looked like they knew the owner very well.
While I was waiting for my food a homeless man came in very hungry asked for some food. Mrs Sultana asked him to have a seat and she went and had a meal prepared for him and gave it to him with a soda. I was really touched by this. The man was so very appreciative and told Mrs. Sultana thank you many times before he left. Mrs. Sultana has earned my respect for the rest of my life.
While I was having my meal Mrs Sultana also offered me some Afghani tea which was delicious. I really liked everything about this place and will be frequent customer. Posted on April 28, 2013 |

★★★★★ We live in the tri-valley area, and have tried all the Afghan restaurants in the area. We were not satisfied with any of them until we came here. The owner of the restaurant greeted us with such warmth and hospitable manner. We ordered several different dishes from the menu, and we were not disappointed with any of them. They were all freshly made unlike some other restaurants that warms up the food in the microwave and don't even check to see if the food is fully warmed. The atmosphere is very cute and cozy as well. I have been recommending them to all my friends. They used to ask me if I could recommend any afghan restaurants in the area, and my answer always was to go to Fremont if you want decent afghan food. Now I bring it up in my conversations with them and I tell them to go try this place. Posted on January 27, 2013 |

★★★★★ Excellent afghan food, with khyber pass being in Dublin there is no need to go to Fremont anymore for good afghan food. We tried Bolani and Chapli kabobs and they were great! Posted on October 4, 2012 |

★★★★★ An excellent addition to Tri Valley area. It was on my list for a while and finally I went there yesterday. Tried chapli kabab and it was awesome and serving was of good size. Service was equally matching the quality of food. The owner (Sultana) was really nice, she and the chef has experience working long time at Salang Pass and Afghan Village restaurants.
Highly recommended for Afghan food lovers. I will definitely go there many times more (InshaAllah) to try other dishes. Posted on September 22, 2012 |

★★★★★ Great food and service. I went there with my family for the first time and it was worth it. I would go back anytime. We met the owner Sultana and she was very nice. Highly recommend. Posted on September 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ I went here with my kids and a friend on Aug 22,2012. Everyone liked what they ordered. We ordered from the lunch special menus, and the portions were plenty. We had the Bolani for appetizer, and it always is a winner with my family. We had one little kids with us, however they don't have kids menu yet. He just shared with his grandma her food which was Mantu and he liked it. This place has a nice clean atmosphere and I hope they stick around for a long time. We will be definitely back to try other items on the menu. Posted on August 29, 2012 |

★★★★★ Fantastic Food. Fantastic Ambience. Great Place to bring friends or family.
Went once with family during ramadaan with whole family and they were very accommodating.
Second time went for a business meeting and just as great.
Had the Beef Tikka both times, really good, cooked to perfection. Posted on August 28, 2012 |

★★★★★ I know they've only been open for a few weeks but this is one of the best afghan food I've had in the bay area. Had the kobideh and beef tekka. The kobideh was dense in meat but super juicy. Beef tekka well seasoned and cooked through medium. Mantu and bolani was spot on. Some people in our party felt the chicken kabobs were under cooked. Owners were nice and accommodated out large party on eid. Only recommendation would be for the owners to switch to the HFSAA approved chicken. Otherwise highly recommended.
