VERY SMALL PORTION AGAIN
IF YOU WANT GET NICE DINNER YOU HAVE TO ORDER EACH ITEM'S TWICE. PEOPLE SITTING BACK OF AND SMOKING AND TALKING (NOT CUSTOMERS) NO ANY SIGN OF PESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS Posted on July 21, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ We ate here once on our trip to Cleveland. First off parking is on the side streets and there were some people smoking pot outside and it was across a bar. Not the best area but it looks like where most of the halal places are located unfortunately. We noticed the portions were a little small for the platters we ordered. The pita bread was stale and the waiter said we could substitute rice for fries, but then when he brought our food he brought rice and said no substitutions. It was too late by then to order extra fries b/c our meal was already there. One person ordered fattoush so had to pay $1 more but just a regular salad came (similar to fattoush) so she didn't return it since it was already made and they didn't charge her extra. We had a party with 6 adults so they charged us a tip right on our bill which was handwritten. Overall not the best experience and we probably will only go back there if we were really desperate. ★★★★☆ The food is some of the best Middle eastern food I have ever had. My husband does not generally like Arabic food but will happily eat here. The only thing we do not appreciate is the poor customer service, specifically by one young lady who seems to be an owner. She can be plain rude at times and this is the only thing that keeps us from going here more frequently. Posted on February 25, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Wow - "pretentious" is all I can say. I asked if they were zabihah and the lady said "as far as I know" I polietly asked if there is any way to be sure and she rudely said no. So, we left.
At least be helpful and at the minimum be truthful. I'd stay away from this establishment. Posted on July 1, 2010 |

★★★★☆ This is a great resturant and very family oriented. I used to live right up the street and eat there many times. I was never treated rudely and the place was always clean. It is ran by a mother and her daughters. The first poster stated that they are Egyptian, but they are actually Palestinian. The food is a little more the expensive side, but it is well worth it. I would highly recommend their lental soap and kabobs. There salad is awesome as well. Great grape leaves! I wish I still lived in Cleveland! Posted on March 16, 2009 |

★★★★☆ I never had a bad experience there. I don't know if the meat is halal or not but I assumed it was because the owners are Egyptian.
The soup and kebobs are really good. Posted on October 14, 2008 |

★★★★★ Recently, our family was traveling in many parts of the USA. We stopped in halal restaurants we found on Zabihah, namely in Long Beach, CA, Fremont, CA, and Hayward, CA, as well as Cleveland, OH. In Cleveland, we went to this Middle East halal restaurant named Salti. It was Monday, so they were closed. Somehow, the owner was working inside the closed restaurant, and he was very polite and kind to tell us to go to Sahara restaurant, which was open. We went there, and found the restaurant is run by a nice respectable mother and three daughters. We also found that the food was one of the most tastiest Middle Eastern foods. The price was very reasonable. Their shawarma, kaliya and Arabic salad were very tasty. The restroom was clean, and when you ask they do have a prayer area, and provide you with prayer rugs. If you go, you'll not be disappointed. That's our opinion. I only wish that they would play traditional Arabic music instead of pop. Posted on February 21, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ We have eaten here several times. The food was good. The service was average. My last vist there in Summer of 2006 was the last one ever. The air conditioner was not working and the place had a bad odor. Before we even ordered our food, we saw a cockroach on the table. We obviously got up and left and don't plan on ever going back. ★★★☆☆ I called and was told their new name is Sahara and that they do serve halal meat. The staff was friendly and helpful, though not around much. The place was nice and comfortable with a pleasing atmosphere. The food was fine, but unfortunately nothing more than average. The portions were smaller than we expected for the slightly higher prices. The hummus was very good, however. We did not try desserts. There are several restaurants/stores within a few blocks of this one, so there are many options for everyone. Posted on June 23, 2006 |

★★★★★ I used to travel the I-90 a lot and found this place to be an excellent stop along the way. The food is excellent and the quality is consistent. The owner is very friendly and has allowed me and others to perform salah on the premises in the past. If you're in Cleveland, don't miss out on this place! Posted on December 13, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Bismillah. I ate there a few times last year, and found the atmosphere comfortable, the staff welcoming and the food satisfying and tasty, and halal. Alhamdolillah. Posted on December 22, 2003 |

★★☆☆☆ This restaurant is not a very good place to eat. the service is not good. maybe if they hired a worker over the age of 14 it would be a better store. Posted on September 4, 2002 |

★★★★☆ Middle Eastern and Lebanese food. A complete meal with desert is $10-$15. Food is good and the service is fine. Everything is served with rice. Food is not spicy, there are all kinds of shawarma, chicken, meat and lamb plates. Their deserts are excellent, especially the rice pudding. Posted on July 10, 2000 |
