★★★★★ We had a nice meal here today, Alhamdulillah. We were greeted by the owner and his teenage son. The son took our orders and was quite helpful and continued to check on us over the duration of the visit. I will warn you right now that it seems like this area is relatively slow, and the way we were urged to sit down made us feel that it was a quiet Saturday for them. As such, the wait for food was a half hour, but having it hot and fresh in front of us made it worth it. We had kabli pulau with chicken thighs and kebabs, and one of our party had lamb, along with a salad that was large enough to share between the five of us and an okra appetizer that came with fresh and hot bread. They were very open to our customizing our orders and made sure to ask if we wanted spicy food or mild food. We would come here again if passing through that area of Chicago, and hope this family continues to have success. They were very nice and are doing a Halal business. Posted on August 4, 2018 |

★☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing for the serving size. I have visited over a dozen places in the Devon area and this was my worst experience so far. I ordered 5 dishes from Afghan Kabob for take away. Each grill dish was between $11-$14. In the beginning by mistake they packed only 4 dishes for me and charged for 5 that they correctly after I checked by opening the shopping bags. Worst Part was when I opened the boxes at home. Each box has 4 to 5 small grilled chicken pieces (smaller than chicken nuggets). I do not eat much but I can easily eat 15-20 small nuggets before I get full. In short the quantity was disappointing compared to the $65 I paid for. After opening the order I had to order pizza for my guests. Posted on October 19, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ Went there this past weekend. This place is right around the corner from MCC, never knew that! Food was ok, nothing out of the world, I've had better kabobs, ordered their beef and chicken shami and a combo shami with lamb and chicken. Meat is subpar, I mean it is fine, but once it cools down, you can tell it is not from a great cut. The sauces they gave where nice, there was a hot sweet tangy sauce and yougurt with mint, which was not bad..the rice was really good, couldn't stop eating, their brown rice is made in lamb broth and was nice. Overall for location and price its ok, I mean, i won't go out of my way to go here, if i am by MCC again and need to eat might drop by. Prices are ok, but a bit on the high side for the quality. The chicken kabob was excellent! so juicy and tender! yummy! Portions do need improvement I think! They were a bit smallish for the price they charge! Posted on May 20, 2011 |

★★★★★ My husband and I went to this restaurant today and loved the food. Prices are low for the amount of food you get. The owner is very nice and the atmosphere is cozy. It's a great family restaurant. We loved the food so much that we took some food to go for the next day...lol. The lamb kabob and spicy chicken kabob was awesome. We will go again to try the rest of the menu..can't wait! Posted on January 3, 2011 |

★★★★★ Excellent place. All items are awesome, the only thing missing is a tadoor, they could use hot Afghan bread. Also, for those looking for Chapli Kababs, sadly they don't have it on the menue. The brother who owns the place is great. Do try the tea at the end of your meal. Posted on August 29, 2009 |

★★★★☆ I went last week and ate some Mantou and my wife had a mixed plate. The servings were a little small but the lamb and chicken on the mixed plate was very good. The Mantou was not as good as I have had elsewhere and seemed like it was just reheated, otherwise not a bad place for Afghan cuisine Posted on February 14, 2009 |

★★★★★ Best afghan restaurant in Chicago right next to the Muslim Center of Chicago (MCC). Great meat, great authentic afghani food. Family owned restaurant. The owner is a great brother, who is always at the masjid (May allah reward him). The afghani pink chai is the best I have ever had, so refreshing and only $1. We've had the boulani which is very good, the kabuli palaow which is also good, and the mixed grill, and mantoo which is excellent. The white sauce which comes with the food is good. The quality is comparable to some of the best afghani restaurants which I have had in NYC. Feel right at home at this restaurant as the owner has good manners and the service is excellent. Clean and reasonable prices. Posted on January 9, 2009 |
