★☆☆☆☆ "The Best Pakistani & Indian food in the Tri-State Area" -- after reading that my hand jumped up and slapped me across the face. I don't know how it was before but I feel like my nieces and their pet worms could run this qudi (thats urdu for toliet) better.
The Mrs. enjoys chaat papri, so I took her to eat some. Waiter brings it after 30 mins of waiting in an empty lobby. 'Must be putting the works on it' I tell my wife as she complains to me. Waiter brings it out and as we are eating I point and make my wife look at all the junk in the other side of the store so that I could quickly pull out the RUBBER BAND that was in the food!!!!!!! I can tolerate it, so I pulled it out but the Mrs. would have thrown up on me, waiter, store, manger, owner so we kept at it.
Pros its a nice landmark to reference all the people across town.
Cons -tacky multi-color strip lighting outside, that blinds and sometimes make traffic stop and go.
-bad food
-dirty, musty, environment
-adding extra rubberbands without my request Posted on July 28, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ Do NOT EAT HERE! Worst food ever. Definitely not the Shaheen I remember growing up. Customer service is horrible to top off the poor excuse of what they claim is food. I don't know how they are still in business. No wonder I've never seen any cars in their parking lot when I drive by. Posted on January 3, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ went to weekend buffet. Worst food I have ever eaten , I actually feel sick now when I remember. Patrons who ordered food from menu instead of buffet fared a lot better , although I will not be going back to this restaurant. Posted on November 12, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Grown up in Pakistan and being from a hyderabadi family, i can very confidently say that this place has an amazing variety of food and everything was delicious. I would say 5 star in terms of taste but the ambiance, presentation, bathrooms and staff are all below average. Therefore they loose one star for that. But overall the chef does a great Job especially is a place where there are not a lot of desi restaurants available to pick from Posted on June 25, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ The food quality is pathetic. Seemed as if its old n stale food!
Their food was unbearable and we paid $13/ per person for buffet, even though the food was not even worth $5!!!
Curd : stale n smelled. Tasted bad!!
Desserts: Halwa seemed old n tasted ok. Their Kheer was burnt and tasted of burnt milk.
Everything was bad!
Stay away from this place... Posted on December 8, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ We party of four decided to go to Shaheen at lunch. Whole place was empty on a Saturday and it was only us. We ordered some items off the grill. Food and service were below average. I will not recommend this place unless they drastically improve on quality of food. I will visit again there shortly and write another review. I think they can do better and will give them another chance. Posted on October 30, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ I have been to Shaheen several times during the last few years and have never been extremely satisfied. This is a hit or miss restaurant, one day they OK, and the next day they are horrible. There is no consistency in the food quality or service. Due to this inconsistency, I have stopped visiting Shaheen since I don't want to take any chances. Since there are a few more choices nearby, I don't think I will miss Shaheen! Posted on June 22, 2011 |

★★★☆☆ I visited Shaheen in their new location (next to 7-11). Overall, it was a-okay; nothing terrible, but nothing superlative. It was interesting to read the other reviews. I would say the owner has gotten the message about service; our server was kind and cordial, and did ask 2 times if everything was okay. The food itself was decent; the chicken makhani (butter chicken) I ordered was tasty; the beef tikka kabab (skewer style) came hot, but didn't have much taste to it... Rice was very good; nan bread was decent. Because halal restaurants are not plentiful in/around the area, this option is an acceptable option for a halal meal. Don't except to be dazzled, but a decent halal meal, and relatively affordable, can be had. If you want razzle dazzle, go to a big American chain or fancy place; this place does average to above average in delivering a meal you can share with your family. Posted on March 20, 2011 |

★☆☆☆☆ I can cook Pakistani food and have been to more than 100 indian/pakistani restaurants in more than 10 countries. I have never found food such disgusting and smelly. I have been to this place three times and each time they have served old food. Poor customer service every time. I would never go to this place again. Posted on March 6, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ We use to go to this place a lot when it was over at the mall, but I've noticed in the last few months their food has been getting worse so we stopped going for awhile. We went recently to their new location and was NOT impressed. The building was cold, the seating is cramped, and the place looked dirty. The staff was not friendly at all, they weren't rude, it just seemed like they were robots. Overall the food was dried out and cold (Paki & Indi). Dont even get me started on the Chinese food that was offered....YUCK. Very disappointed in this place. Posted on January 26, 2011 |

★★★★★ We stopped by this place during Ramadan. Their buffet has many delicious items. I enjoyed everything. I was even able to pray here. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Posted on January 3, 2011 |

★★☆☆☆ I'm not sure if this restaurant is affiliated with the Shaheen's in New York, however it's not even close! this place was weird. We walked in and the two servers were just staring at us. I literally had to ask them if we can get a table and eat here today. Food was luke warm and not that tasty. Not a good experience. I do NOT recommend. Posted on December 16, 2010 |

★★★★★ A few years ago this place was not that great, but I tried it out again and let me tell you I was HIGHLY impressed, the food is amazing, staff is great, their catering's are just the best. My entire family loves Shaheen and refuses to go anywhere else, for those of you who have had a bad experience or 2 I think you need to check it out again. Order Karahi Chicken from the menu its amazing. I think the owners son joined him as well who is really doing good. Posted on December 28, 2009 |

★☆☆☆☆ Ramadan 2008---- 10/26/2008….I visited with my family to break the fast and invited couple of friends to join us, it was a terrible mistake I did by inviting them to this place. The food looked really great, unfortunately it was expire, while tasting the food it smelled really horrible and we had to call and tell the owner that this food is expired; he took it ways couple of things from the spot and this happed couple of times when they were located on a different place. Since this was a new locating, we thought that the management has been change wanted to try again.
I will never ever go again and will tell all my family members and friends not to visit this place.
Guess what!!! Instead of reducing my bill, the owners charge me $2.50 for a single tin can drink which is worth 0.50c in the market.
Good work SHAHEEN….WHAT A SHAME!!!! Posted on September 25, 2008 |

★★☆☆☆ During the Ramadan of 07, we visited this place almost three times. First time was exceptional, fresh pakora and food with lots of people. Next time was quite the opposite and after third we stopped going there any more. Their kitchen is messy and dirty and we weren't able to convince ourself to go there any more. The food quality, except for the first time, was also abysmal. Posted on August 28, 2008 |

★★★★★ I visited this resturent with my family during my visit to Baltimore. My experience is different than many other people. There was a guy to greet us at the door. Owner came to us and asked if everything was OK. Food was great and all the staff found very friendly.
Hopefully they have changed their attitude after reading some comments.
Price was very reasonable even cheaper than other resturents in the city.
I would go there again. Posted on July 20, 2007 |

★★★☆☆ They have a new location now. It is in the Security Mall. It's gotten a little bit more decent. It is mostly a buffet place. The choices are pretty good. I had the Haleem which I enjoyed. As for the service, when I came in there was no one to greet us. Me and my friend basically just sat ourselved and just started getting food from the Buffet. Then we just went to the cash register to pay for our food. The woman was friendly. In all, my experience wasn't as bad as others. Posted on June 15, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Buffet is average, though, i highly recommend ordering directly from the menu. Shaheen is known for its seekh kubobs and naans. They also serve hulwa poori at all times of the day. There is a large screen tv for entertainment, the bathrooms are exceptionally clean and the wait staff has gotten better in the last few months. Posted on October 16, 2006 |

★★☆☆☆ My husband and I had the same experience as the rest of you regarding the service. I told my husband, this place can be compared to a bad PIA flight. It CAN get a bit irritating. Food: My husband didn't care for it, he said it didn't taste all that great. I on the other hand am not at all picky so for me, it was pretty OK. We had gone to this place about 3 or 4 times, each time hoping the service isn't as bad as what we had experienced and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but were disappointed and in fact irritated each & every time. I think I'll just go there to pick up Nans or kebabs, but NOT to dine in. Restaurants aren't suppose to have service like theirs. Posted on April 30, 2006 |

★★☆☆☆ I could not agree more with the rest of the reviews. I am dissapointed in this restaraunt. I went there for the first time last week and my friend and I stood at the front counter for quite a while waiting for someone to come up to greet us and sit us down like other restaraunts, but that didn't happen. So we sat ourselves. The waitress didn't seem nice. It took her forever to get our drinks and when I smiled and said thank you she didn't respond. She seemed very cold. I went there a week later to see if my experience would be different. But, unfortunatly it was still the same. Additionally, they didn't have their food out after they had opened. ★☆☆☆☆ Cold and Reluctant Service from all staff - including the particularly rude and abrasive owner. The food is very low quality - does not taste like it is genuinely home made Pakistani food. Posted on September 1, 2005 |

★★☆☆☆ I have been to Shaheen about 4 times, the last visit being my final one. The food is good although cold but the service is horrible as are the restrooms. As somebody else said here, when you go there nobody asks you anything. You kind of just fend for yourself which is ok but once you are seated and then are either waiting for drinks or roti (which one can't fend for oneself or otherwise I would have done that too) its really frustrating. During my last visit, a few things went bad. First of all, my husband and kids were waiting for naans for atleast half an hour and there was none. This was a prime time (8:30 for dinner) so it wasn't that it was closing time or something. So we kept on glancing around and reminding them and waiting. The food on our plates was cold before anything came. Secondly, when we went in, the biryani had finished and we were told that more was coming in. After waiting for again atleast 40 minutes, what came in were plain veggie rice. As somebody who had go just for biryani, this was frustrating. To add the last straw, the ladies restroom was as usual in horrible condition. This time, thankfully the flush was working which wasn't the last 3 times but the sink was dirty with somebody's vomit and with the paper towel lying in that sink and no toilet roll. Now if this had been the first time, we would have this service, I would not have been this much annoyed but one of these issues occur all the time. So this time, I went to the lady who roams around and usually neglects the customers and told her all this. She didn't seem much concerned so told the owner too. I told them they were losing their customers to the much better A's place nearby. Posted on July 7, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ Could not agree more with 'samosas'! The buffet table was dirty, and some of the food was cold, the burner was was out. Posted on June 13, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ The food was very good (very traditionally Pakistani tasting) BUT the service was extremely poor. Not a restaurant service at all. One would feel odd eating in unless I guess you're part of their family. It was too casual.. meaning when u enter, no one comes up, then u seat yourself, no one brings the menu, no one asks if you want buffet, no one brings you water, no one asks if "everything is ok". Although there are so many people working there, and I hardly saw any customer there, ...was just weird, their style of service.
However, as far as the food is concerned, it was good. Perhaps they would be good for catering "?" I dont know! Posted on May 24, 2005 |
