A NOTE ABOUT THE HALAL STATUS OF HERO CERTIFIED BURGERS
| |
|
This restaurant is listed as sourcing some/all of its meat from a known supplier of Halal meat. This means that the management or employees of this restaurant may not be aware of their own halal status if asked. However, they may be able to confirm their meat supplier is Beretta Farms, in which case you can proceed if you feel comfortable eating there. Feel free to click on the name of the supplier and/or certifier listed in the Halal summary to learn more about their Halal procedures. Even if you do decide to eat here, we recommend you politely ask that they clean their grill and ensure no contact with non-Halal meat or alcohol. |

★★★★★ Excellent burgers!! They definitely don't use al-safa patties. Hero prides themselves on using 100% angus beef. They have 3 sizes in burger patties: 4oz, 6oz and 8oz. The 4oz patty is thin and could be confused with an al-safa patty. In my opinion, it's not worth it to go to a gourmet burger place and order a 4oz patty. You should order at least the 6oz. I have not tried the 8oz because the 6oz is meaty enough. Definitely better than any other halal burgers in buffalo! Posted on March 15, 2016 |

★☆☆☆☆ Major disappointment. The burgers are frozen patties, that taste like a bit of beef with a fair amount of soy. I suspect that they are using Al Safa patties, which are really just soy patties.
Prices are high, and quality is low. Won't be going here again. Pity. Posted on March 3, 2016 |

★★★★★ Hero is a Canadian burger chain that I have been eating at in Mississauga for the past few years. I was super excited when I saw that one was opening in buffalo but wasn't sure if it would be halal. So I personally contacted the corporate office and asked them. They put me in touch with their chicken and beef suppliers who confirmed that they are supplying the meat to the buffalo location AND sent me copies of the halal certification. I therefore have more faith in the halal status or Hero Burger than I do of other restaurants in Buffalo. The food is a little expensive... But these are gourmet burgers. The quality is excellent. They only serve burgers, so don't expect pizza, wings, shawarma, biryani, etc. Definitely worth trying if you like beef and chicken burgers. Posted on February 4, 2016 |
